HAUNTED POPULARITY

Paranormal

At the turn of the century, the most popular websites on the internet were pornographic websites followed by UFO websites. One of the highest rated TV shows was Bill Byrnes’ UFO Hunters. (One of the first of many “Hunter” reality shows)

At the same time UFO Hunters was undergoing scrutiny from the black ops division of the Bush Administration, Paranormal state was a fledgling show that introduced America to the world of ghost hunting. As UFOs disappeared on the small screen; shows about Hauntings flourished.  The show had a plot of 2 roto-rooter employees that investigated hauntings in their spare time. Soon viewers became familiar with terms like “Intelligent Hauntings” vs. “Residual Hauntings”. The show jumped the Shark when the co-host Grant Wilson left the show.

In the ratings, Paranormal State and Ghost Hunters were having their lunch digested by three Ghost Hunters from Las Vegas. Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin started out as a low budget investigation group that got a huge bump when they took a Camera crew from Reno NV on a documentary with them to Goldfield and Virginia City.

The threesome created a show called “Ghost Adventures”. In the beginning it was quaint and much of the entertainment came from the characters of the three hosts as they were not afraid of ghosts, yet the executive producer is frightened of clowns and snakes.

Nobody has done a convincing job of “debunking” the video that was shot by the Reno News crew as they recorded video of rocks being thrown at the hunters as well as what appears to be a “Full Bodied Apparition” aka “A GHOST”. The documentary can be seen on line. The show blossomed as they began to introduce new gadgets to contact with those in the afterlife. In one touching episode, the inventor of the “MELmeter” connects with his recently deceased teenage daughter “MELlissa” who communicates from the “other side”. Melissa died in a car accident and the crew attends an afterlife birthday party.

Now everybody seems to own a digital Olympus voice recorder. I’m sure sales of FLIR cameras have gone up as well (Forward looking Infra-Red).

As ratings grew with the interest in ghosts; this opened the door for Psychics and stories about hauntings.

I asked myself while watching an episode of Paranormal witness: “Why do we find scary shows so interesting”? The answer is as old as Bela Lugosi’s Movies. Besides the fact that physical death is something we all have in common and perhaps want to know more about what happens after the last heartbeat; I think the emotion of fear leads us to expect a childhood relief we felt when our mom came to our rescue to remind us that it is just a movie. I think people drink alcohol because when we cried, we found comfort in the bottle. But fear brings back the emotion that someone was there to protect you.

That’s it.
It’s an infantile back flash. It’s the same reason women who grow up getting beat by their father will eventually marry a man who will physically abuse her. Sad but true. A lot of your actions can be traced back to your childhood.

Big Tits and other Lies

DT DT1

I’ve never been infatuated with women sporting large breasts. A simple B cup is fine for my taste. But ladies; don’t tell your plastic Surgeon that. To a successful cosmetic surgeon, a woman ain’t a woman unless her implants enter the room before she does. How did this lie get started?

It’s a hypothesis that I’ve been pondering since my early 20s. I think I’ve figured it out. Part of it has to do with Freud. It’s a childhood paradigm. A majority of men are breast fed the first 6 months of their life. As women became the majority in the work place, the paradigm shifted. A male that would have been “breast” fed, is now bottle fed. (Do you think there’s a connection between bottle fed babies and alcoholics)? It’s just a thought!

Coming from a “Stanford” Medical background; I can say this with certainty: “Breast size is largely determined by FAT CELLS”. It’s a rare genetic anomaly when you find a thin female with large breasts. You’re most likely to find such a specimen in a general surgeon’s office waiting for her consult for a breast reduction mammoplasty. A small/thin woman with double D’s will suffer from lumbar muscle pain. In layman’s terms, she’s top heavy.

I cringe when I see my favorite Hollywood starlets like Meg Ryan go from the beautiful girl next door, to the scarred bee stung lips with breast that look like the headlights on a 48 Tucker Sedan.

Meg  Meg BA

As I mentioned earlier, breasts are mainly fat cells. Physiologically, they were designed to accommodate mammary glands to feed little Billy. If you were the High school quarterback you probably dated the cheerleader with the big breasts. When you came back from the Army, more than likely, the rest of you cheerleader’s fat cells started manifesting in the forms of love handles, saddlebags and in the 21st century, a beer gut.

I use to date girls on the swim team. Girls with “Tom Boy” bodies Sure they’re going to have a AA bra size (That’s the smallest for my male readers) but they never had to worry about being on a constant diet. Check out the 48 year old Dara Torres.

And the ultimate question that mankind has been asking since 1967: “Mary Anne” or “Ginger”? You decide.

 Dawn Wells 74 Tina Louise

(Left Dawn Wells as “Mary Anne” on Gilligan’s Island. Right is Tina Louis or “Ginger”)

dawn-wells Tina-Louise

Mary Ann at the age of 74        Ginger at the age of 81 (7 years older)

There’s an old Blues song written by the late Johnny Winter called “Check out da momma”. (Cuz if her momma ain’t fine you betta take yo time; she gonna look just like her momma on down da line).  You can keep the Double Dees.  I’ll take the fit looking double AA’s anytimeGuys, get over your infantile breast feeding programming.  Large breasts are large fat cells and they usually don’t limit their local to the upper torso.  Ladies, be what you are. There’s a guy out their who will appreciate your small breasts.

THE JOURNEY PART 2

JesusBaptism

If you want to learn what your earthly experience is about, I strongly suggest reading the Old Testament Book Ecclesiastes which was written by King Solomon the son of King David. (As in David and Goliath or David and Bathsheba or David, a man after God’s heart) I believe King David to be the example of what a human can hope to become. Another human would be Jesus the Christ or Messiah. Unlike Christ, King David was not of the divine Trinity. He was a man that was not exempt from sin; but he knew God and accepted the consequences of his sins. David longed to be a Godly man, but his human circumstances lets us know that even the most righteous amongst humans is not immune to the temptations of Satan. As a human, the young David showed faith by saying: “Hey, I’m not going to sit and let that Philistine with a pituitary glandular problem talk trash about my God”. David was a kid and he stood up to the Philistine Warrior who “weighed in” at an estimated at 9’6″. (nine feet and six inches tall) The kid took on the challenge while King Saul cowardly “lead from behind”.

King Solomon on the other hand is the son of the Giant slayer. He inherits David’s kingdom and also is credited with building the Temple. In his book, Solomon talks about everything he did to get a buzz. From Concubines (The King’s girl toys) to conquering other armies. And what does Solomon have to say about his accomplishments? In short: “The one who dies with the most toys is………dead”. He goes on to say that someone (like him) will come along that did not build the temple and will not appreciate it either. In the New American Standard version of the Bible (The same as the King James minus the “Thees” and “Thous” uses the term “Vanities”. Solomon says “All is Vanity” in the watered down “Good News” version, it uses the phrase “Chasing the wind”. As in: “All is useless, like chasing the wind”. The book Ecclesiates is about your purpose on earth. He surmizes that in the end, your relationship with God is all that matters. Is this like having a mother that takes pre-natal vitamins when she is pregnant with you? Is this like learning at a young age to take notes in class rather than pass notes? Is this like trying to understand and learn from your homework than just “getting it done”?

At a point in your life where you finally make the mountain curve, you realize that looks, health and eventually wealth are “fleeting”. Even the attractive sins lose their magnetism. If not you continue to go off the side of the mountain and in doing so, take others with you. I honestly believe that this is a result of tuning out your higher vibration. (AKA wisdom)

There are two types of people. Those who only believe what they can see and touch and those who realize that a creator that can make a system that works so perfectly would not let the story end with His creation that shows love for Him turning to dust. Again, I could write a blog on why people refuse to believe in an omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God.

So What Are the 3 Destinations after 7 or 8 decades of biological living?

Hell no we won’t go:

I call these spirits the confused, frightened or just lost. Not lost as in God has forgotten about them. The higher power will see everyone at judgment. If you’re smart you will not look up. Keep looking at your toes and be as humble as you possibly can. If you want to connect with the “Hell no we won’t go” crowd; go visit the Old Washoe Club in Virginia city NV. (Or any popular haunted location). I’ve seen too many legit non-believers who confess that there are intelligent entities that exist without human bodies. Spirits or “Ghosts” do try to hang on to the earthly realm. There excuses may be that they fear judgment and do not want to face the Judge. Some don’t know that they’re dead in the earthly realm. Most do not want to accept that they are dead and hesitate to walk into the light.

  1. Hell

I’ve read and heard wild testimonies of former non-believers that were fortunate enough to experience a near death experience. One said he was being spread over a burning abyss with ropes attached to all 4 extremities. Another saw what he said looked like a monitor. (A large alligator sized lizard) with red eyes. If you want more vivid descriptions, I strongly suggest you go to http://www.NDERF.org . I could stay up all night reading about people who had out of Body Experiences and lived to talk about it.

  1. Heaven:

The typical story of the believer who died for a brief time and lived to tell about it said they didn’t want to come back. Their stories go like this:

Any pain to be suffered comes first. Instinctively you fight to live.  That is automatic.

It is inconceivable to the conscious mind that any other reality could possibly exist beside the earth-world of matter bounded by time and space. We are used to it. We have been trained since birth to live and thrive in it. We know ourselves to be ourselves by the external stimuli we receive. Life tells us who we are and we accept its telling. That, too, is automatic, and to be expected.

Your body goes limp.

Your heart stops.

No more air flows in or out.

You lose sight, feeling, and movement, although the ability to hear goes last. Identity ceases. The “you” that you once were becomes only a memory.

There is no pain at the moment of death.

Only peaceful silence . . . calm. . . quiet.

But you still exist.

It is easy not to breathe. In fact, it is easier, more comfortable, and infinitely more natural not to breathe than to breathe. The biggest surprise for most people in dying is to realize that dying does not end life. Whether darkness or light comes next, or some kind of event, be it positive, negative, or somewhere in-between, expected or unexpected, the biggest surprise of all is to realize you are still you. You can still think, you can still remember, you can still see, hear, move, reason, wonder, feel, question, and tell jokes ? if you wish. You are still alive, very much alive. Actually, you’re more alive after death than at any time since you were last born. This is different; different because you no longer wear a dense body to filter and amplify the various sensations you had once regarded as the only valid indicators of what constitutes life. You had always been taught one has to wear a body to live.

If you expect to cease to exist when you die you will be disappointed.

The only thing dying does is help you release, slough off, and discard the “jacket” you once wore (more commonly referred to as a body).

When you die you lose your body.

That’s all there is to it.

Nothing else is lost.

You are not your body. It is just something you wear for a while, (Like your mother’s uterus) because living in the earth-plane is infinitely more meaningful and more involved if you are encased in its trappings and subject to its rules.

WHAT DEATH IS

There is a step-up of energy at the moment of death, an increase in speed as if you are suddenly vibrating faster than before. Using radio as an analogy, this speed-up is comparable to having lived all your life at a certain radio frequency when all of a sudden someone or something comes along and flips the dial. That flip shifts you to another, higher wavelength. The original frequency where you once existed is still there. It did not change. Everything is still just the same as it was. Only you changed, only you speeded up to allow entry into the next radio frequency on the dial.

As is true with all radios and radio stations, there can be bleed-overs or distortions of transmission signals due to interference patterns. These can allow or force frequencies to coexist or commingle for indefinite periods of time. Normally, most shifts up the dial are fast and efficient; but, occasionally, one can run into interference, perhaps from a strong emotion, a sense of duty, or a need to fulfill a vow, or keep a promise. This interference could allow coexistence of frequencies for a few seconds, days, or even years (perhaps explaining hauntings); but, sooner or later, eventually, every given vibrational frequency will seek out or be nudged to where it belongs. You fit your particular spot on the dial by your speed of vibration. You cannot coexist forever where you do not belong.

Who can say how many spots there are on the dial or how many frequencies there are to inhabit. No one knows.

You shift frequencies in dying. You switch over to life on another wave-length. You are still a spot on the dial but you move up or down a notch or two.

You don’t cease to exist when you die. You shift your consciousness and speed of vibration.

That’s what death is, . . a shift.

Some NDErs say they felt free. They say they saw a tunnel that they were drawn to. Once in the tunnel, they saw a bright light. Brighter than Xenon and it expressed the emotion of pure love. Love is a common theme that most who survive near death experiences talk about. (Those who get to enter into the bright light). Those who experience the other place say they experienced fear, regret and darkness. Many say they are greeted by relatives who have passed. One then tells them it’s not their time, or, a deity gives them the choice of staying or going back. It’s at this time they must weigh the consequences of possibly leaving your children parentless or going back to suffer the rebuilding process and even going through the rest of your life looking like the elephant man. Your decision will weigh on your ultimate destination regardless. Did you go back for yourself? Did you go back for your children or spouse? Did you stay because you knew you would face great physical pain upon returning. Did you go back to seek salvation? Remember, every action has an opposite re-action.

You ultimately choose your destination. If I gave you a choice of two gifts; the first being the largest winning lotto ticket in history and the second a guaranteed place in heaven, which would you pick? If you have to think about it, you’re not right with God.

I don’t know about the 7th realm of heaven or what judgment day will be like. I do know that we live and we die a physical death. I choose to believe that after our physical death our spiritual existence is all that is left. I’ve heard we will get new bodies free of sickness or illness. Again, that is hearsay. I’ve chosen to be with my creator. I am doing whatever I can do to get the attention of my creator.

In the New Testament,

Jesus is quoted as saying in Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

~ “but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter”.   Conversely; “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness”.

It would seem Jesus must know you, and perhaps for doing the will of His Father.

THE JOURNEY PART 1

einstein-rosen-bridge2 julie

~ “the most important thing you learned in school was not WHAT you learned rather HOW to learn”

When you were waiting to be born on the other side as pure spiritual energy, I’m guessing there were spiritual coaches telling you to watch out for Nigerian Princes that would let you in on their gold that was being held in customs by the Nigerian government scam.  They probably told you how wonderful the womb would feel as all you had to do was pick a parent that wasn’t a crack head or pot head.  You probably were told to remember that you had a spiritual version of yourself that was pure energy, and that you would occupy a carbon based biological version of yourself that was designed by the great Higher Power (We’ll use the term God) to be fruitful and multiply.  Because God has respect and love for His creations, your spiritual conscious knowledge was erased prior to your conception.  This was to keep anything from corrupting your learning experience.  God calls this “Free Will”.

Fetus

So you sat in your mother’s womb getting everything you needed through this umbilical cord.  I truly believe this is why the concept of socialism comes so easy to people.  It’s natural for all humans to get something for nothing.  (That’s presuming that you’re not aborted and harvested for your fetal parts).  You will note that all humans are not created equal.  As you are nurtured, you feel (and fill) the need for productivity or manifest your love for sloth.

They (science) say, that babies that have mothers that take prenatal vitamins and actually read to their “bun in the oven” produce smarter children. So all of these precautions prepare the unborn for life after the womb.  It is a magnificent advantage.

You sit waiting in your mother’s uterus.  The temperature is perfect, you get everything you need to live through a life line called the umbilical cord.  If you want proof of this amazing life line, reach down and feel your belly button.(Umbilicus)  That was where your umbilical cord was attached.  Perhaps (If you could remember such thoughts) you were wondering if you would die without the use of your attachment to your mother. You wondered: “Is there life after the womb and cord”? Perhaps you struggled to hold on to the advice you were given on the other side.  Does this explain why some children are born and require very little guidance while other babies are born and must be civilized and have mores (pronounced Mor-rays) inculcated day after day?

The day of birth comes and goes.  The amniotic fluid that kept you alive for 9 months has now been drained from the pool.  As this happened, your quarters began to shake.  In Hebrew, this shaking is referred to as a “Shemitah” (Pronounced Schmee-tah).  It is the seventh year of the Hebrew calendar.  The last day of the Shemitah year is Elul 29.  For those of you interested in economy; We are in a  Shemitah year and coming up on Elul 29 next month on September 13th.  It’s a Sunday.  But unlike past Shemitahs, this Shemitah is the 7th out of 49 years which leads to what was called the “Jubilee”.  (Look it up) So as the womb started shaking or “contracting”, the paradigm was:

“Everybody out of the pool”.

So both you, then your umbilical cord slid down the water slide into warm blankets. Your power pack (or placenta) is the last one out.  A clamp was put on your life cord, then your cord was tied off with a white ligature that looks like tennis shoe laces.  Minutes later, your mom would expel your now needless “placenta”.

baby-watching

So life didn’t end after you outgrew your womb without a view.  In fact, quite the contrary.  It had just begun.  Although you didn’t know it at the time, instead of sitting up watching “Gilligan’s Island”, you were sent to a new place where other kids your age went.  It was this place called “School”.  This is most likely where you discovered the concept that all men were not created equal. Some kids had red colored hair.  Some kids had brown skin.  Some kids could see the writings on the chalk board. (Something you might not have noticed until you stood up next to the large green structure).

Classroom_l

For the next 13 years, your life consisted of preparation.  You didn’t know it at the time.  How on earth would you ever find use for the Pythagorean theorem?  Why would I care if the square root of 144 was 12?  How come nobody ever told Einstein that i comes before e except after c?

math1

By the sixth grade (or grade 6 for my Canadian friends) you begin to think of school as just a job.  Learning was work.  Little did you know that the same thought process would help you figure out how to program a remote control device.  At this point, it is imperative to have some type of guidance.

There are those who are blessed like James Leininger III who knew at the age of 4 what they wanted to be.  Young James wants to fly FA-18s.  Then again James is one of the most documented modern day “past life experiences” on record.  He is supposedly the re-incarnation of James Huston Jr. who was a young Corsair pilot shot down in the south Pacific during WWII.  But very few of us have that kind of direction. (or recall) At the age of 11, without direction you are a sailboat in the wind without a rudder nor anchor.  For 13 years you go with the flow until the reality comes that you need to become accountable and responsible for yourself.  All of a sudden, you start wishing you could go back to the third grade and take it seriously.  You finally get it.  Even without direction, if you have advanced tools in education (Which is getting harder and harder to acquire with many of your instructors being pot heads) you will find yourself working at “Waste Management” but you (my educated friend) will not be shoveling garbage,

waste_management_fleet

rather signing the paychecks at the front office.  There in lays the difference between achieving in class and sleeping in class.

paycheck

Don’t think it ends there.  Even if you go to a community college to try to heal your poor highschool grades, and you understand the Pythagorean theorem inside and out as well as the Magna Carta, you realize that your time on this planet or dimension is short.  Once you realize that the most important thing you learned in school was not what you learned rather how to learn, you start to put the pieces of the puzzle together.  Just as our time in the womb was brief, so is our time in the body.  Just as there was another dimension after the womb, you must wonder if the process continues?

Heavens

Even more important, knowing what we know now about the value of learning and preparation, ask yourself how important it is to prepare for the next dimension?  I don’t know about 72 virgins or passing go to collect 200 in Karma and a new re-incarnated Buddhist body until I reach Nirvana; but I have been taught the tale of three dimensions after this one. Heaven, Hell and “Hell no we won’t go”

THE DEMISE OF THE BABY BOOMER & MAN

Assembly line

Who are the baby boomers?

If you were born between 1946 (The year after WWII ended) and 1964 (The year after JFK’s life ended) You are a baby boomer.

  General_Motors_building
If you were born in the North Eastern United States during this period, the chances are, many of you fell victim to the paradygm of turning 17 then getting a job at the local steel mill, coal plant or perhaps move to Michigan and get a job putting bumpers on 63 Chevy Impalas.  If you chose to go to college, you came out with an entry level job in management at Ford, AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) or Boehing.  (Making Cars, Steel beams or Passenger Airplanes).

This was the epitome of the Technical revolution.  The problem with Technical revolutions is that they have a built in self destruct mechanism called the technocratic state.  It’s the beginning of singularity.  (The replacement of humans with techology)  At a certain point, technology dominates production, making human labor obsolete.

In a cruel way, the cost of getting America from the industrial revolution to the technocratic state was literally “HARD BACK BREAKING WORK”.  Let’s take the installation of a windshield or “screen” on a 1966 Caddilac.  It took 4 very strong individuals to lift the hunk of glass into place and a 5th person called a “foreman” to say: “A little more to the left”.  This was a very difficult and potentially deadly/costly procedure if not done correctly.

Heavy lifting

Some heavy lifting vocations are still unavoidable

robot arm

windshield_girl

Today a robotic arm has done away with the 4 beer drinking blue collar wage earners and a 100 pound female can guide the robotic arm with very little motion or strength.  Thus we had the beginning of singularity.  In some cases, robotic arms have done away with the need for a heart surgeon present in Truckee California.  As laparoscopic surgery can be done remotely once an online connection has been established from the rural areas of California to the Mayo Clinic across the nation.

NCR was a product that was invalualble in the 60s.  It stood for “No-carbon paper-required”. Documents were once required in triplicates.  At first this meant writing the report 3 times.  Someone then invented “Carbon paper”.  It was a semi-reusable page of ink. You stuck a sheet under the original document and it would copy it onto the next page. 3 copes was about the limit as you had to press really hard to make the original document transfer to the next form. Soon this wonderful invention called NCR came out.  So forms that would have to be filled out using two sheets of carbon paper now only had to be filled out once.  Where did NCR forms go?  The Smithsonian Institute.

NCR

Where did the 4 blue collar heavy weight windshield lifters go with their herniated lumbar discs?  Social Security Disability.

MRI

We have a Hen vs. The Egg scenario when it comes to disability.  One can easily place blame on the anemic Obama economy in 2008 along with the massive job loss numbers, due to the uncertainty resulting in the socialist move towards Obamacare.  At the same time, the shrinking middle class can arguably be attributed to the technocratic shift and the inability of the blue collar worker to abuse his or her body any longer.  The most commonly prescribed medication in America today is some form of the “narcotic” or “Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammitory drug” (NSAID).  Medications like Hydrocodone or Oxycodone have been the destination for many who spent a great deal of their lives doing intense and repetitive heavy lifting.  It wasn’t until the late 1970s that low back supports were mandated for employees lifting over 20 pounds.  Also in the early 1980s, the “Carpal Tunnel Release” procedure was amongst the most common worker’s comp. surgeries performed.  This is a condition where the large ligament that runs from your thumb to your pinky, becomes scarred and painful.  Once the pressure on the “Tunnel” created by the compromised ligament is released, the main nerve that runs down the palm side of your hand(The Median nerve) is restored and numbness and pain is relieved.  This condition or “Syndrome” was mainly noticed in meat workers such as butchers or chicken carvers.  You can imagine the pressure used to hold a carving knife firmly.

As the computer became ubiqitous; more and more cases of carpal tunnel syndrome were reported.

FUTURE GENERATIONS

MagTapes IBM_Electronic_Data_Processing_Machine

There is good and bad news for future generations.  The good news is that “occupaional medicine” has become an important discipline of medicine reducing the needless injuries to manual laborers.  At the same time, the advancements in computer technology have made the need for manual labor obsolete.   So one can no longer graduate from Highschool and go down to the GM plant as those jobs have been outsourced and what few jobs that exist in the US are robotic.  On the bright side, some of the higher paying jobs simply require an advanced knowledge of the computer without a 4 to 8 year degree.  The rumor of a vanishing middle class is no longer rumor but fact. Computers have already made computer jobs obsolete.  Programs were created that did away with data processing technicians.  Those techs would become “programmers” that would write programs to make other jobs obsolete.  In the generations to come; we will come closer and closer to the point of singularity.  Our live’s will be controlled by a few tyrants who will have access to the computer password until AI (Artificial Intelligence) comes to the conclusion it no longer needs humans.

A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER

Wcover

It’s the secret to life. I direct this advice to those of you who have BIG DREAMS.  One person’s big dream is another persons obligation.  The problem with dreams are that they come with a certain degree of uncertainty.  If they were simply things on your to-do list, they would not be a dream. I would love to perform as The Rolling Stones’ guitarist.  I know that whoever is playing for Jagger and Company now, would love to enjoy an evening off.   Yet their fans pay 3 digits to see Keith Richards and Ron Wood.  Not Ace Andres and Ron Wood. So to me it’s a Dream.  To Ron Wood, it would be nice to have a peaceful evening to throw paint on a canvas and sip a Merlot.

Keef

On the other hand, If I really wanted to play for the Stones for one night; I’m sure if I started following the band around and got to know all of the hitters, it would be just a matter of time before they used me as an opener, then I would get my chance like Spike Edney did with Queen.  Of course it helped that Spike played Keyboards as well but the point is, Spike was the covert 5th member of Queen.

I do believe that a life without Dreams is a Life not worth living.  I think each of us are here to do the incredible in their own way. (Be the best versions of ourselves) Einstein said: “The ability to dream is more important than knowledge”.  We’re not here to escape the demands of life by using drugs and alcohol.  We’re here to try to make this a better place, not just for us and our children, but for the following generations.  I fear that peace and promise for future generations will not come without a reset.  (And soon)

So In short, I don’t consider myself a failure because I haven’t played the Garden with the Stones.  Why would I feel like a failure because I couldn’t give Keith Richards the night off?

Magee_Park

When I was a child, I wanted to be a Major League Baseball player.  What I didn’t know was that what was stopping my growth as a ballplayer was my poor vision.  I never got glasses until I was a freshman in highschool.  When I did get my vision corrected, I had a lot of catching up to do.  I could finally see the chalk board in school.  But the first time my heart was really shattered was when I was trying out for “American Legion” Baseball.  I made every practice and I even worked out in 114 degree weather (farenheit).  I wanted to play Baseball at any cost.  When I got the phone call that I was cut, I was crushed.  Later in the season, the team was out of contention so the gifted players started slacking off and going to Disneyland.  I got a call from the same coach that cut me and asked me if I wanted to “suit up” for the last game of the season.  I said sure.  I got to play in a minor league stadium (The Milwaukee Brewers’ system) and I got a hit that drove in the baserunner on third and I recall rounding third and scoring on a double after I had advanced to second base on a bunt.

Freddy

So I never got to play in Candlestick park or the Oakland Coliseum, but I got to play in a minor league stadium.  Am I a failure because I didn’t make it to the show? Lots of really talented players don’t make it to the Majors (The show).  But I got a taste of the system and a fond memory.  In the end, isn’t that all we take with us? (BTW I could do another blog on the reasons our Dreams don’t come to fruition)

I was reading Ecclesiastes to my wife about a month ago.  I had explained how King Solomon was the richest man to ever live. (Even by Donald Trump’s standards) One verse that has stuck with me was chapter 6 verse 9 “It is useless; it is like chasing the wind. It is better to be satisfied with what you have than to be always wanting something else”.

I agree with the prophet.  I stand by my saying that a life without dreams is not worth living.  Why breathe? The secret to life lays in being satisfied with what you’ve been blessed with than to constantly want that which you don’t have.

My most profound discovery in my search for wisdom was simple. LISTEN CLOSELY!  We (Humans) don’t want that which we do not have.  Rather; That which we can’t have. It makes us feel special.  It makes us feel appreciated.  It makes us feel as worthy as that which we felt unworthy of. Stephen Covey said in his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” Man’s deepest desire is to be understood.  I think understood and appreciated both fit Dr. Covey’s assertion.  Matthew Kelly nailed it when he said we’re here to be the best version of ourselves.

Worrying about what you don’t have is not the same as wanting to better yourself.  That can come from reading a book or taking in a lecture.  It can also come from wanting the attire of the profession you’re trying to enter.  I would have no problem fitting in with the Ramones. (or Marky’s band) but if I had an offer from Johnson & Johnson as a Marketing Director, I would have to drag out the old Italian shoes, (Farragamo) and see if my pinstripe suits still fit, then cut my hair just for the interview.  Fortunately that will not be showing up on the Dream Radar anytime soon.  It never was a dream.  It was on the “To Do” list.

At this point in my life: “It would be nice to do one swan song tour with David Bowie or Rod”.  What ever your dream is, keep it alive.

One thing I failed to confess was that the only thing better than watching your dreams come true are making someone elses Dreams come true.

Attorney-Client Privilege & Doctor-Patient Privilege “BEWARE”

Gavel1

In short, if an attorney has information that would free a convicted suspect he can’t mention it. The innocent defendant will rot in prison. Such was the case with William Macumber in 1974 when he was allegedly framed by his wife while going through an ugly divorce.

Yet if you go to your family doctor and say you would rather die than live with tubes coming out of your body, fear your physician as you may return home, only to be greeted by the Police and escorted against your will for a mental evaluation.

William Macumber

William Macumber

The murder of a couple on a “Lover’s Lane” in Arizona north of Scottsdale happened in 1962. The case went cold until Macumber’s wife went to her boss in the Scottsdale P.D. and said (In the middle of an ugly divorce) that he (Macumber) had confessed to her of being the killer of the couple in 1962. This event happened in 1974 just weeks after Macumber’s wife had taken a class on forensics and how to lift prints. To add insult to injury, the evidence was not locked up and anyone with a badge could have tampered with the evidence.

One other piece of evidence Macumber’s defense had was a young girl who claimed to have known who committed the crime. She said it was a guy named Ernesto or Ernie Salazar. No such person could be found. In 1967, five years after the murders in the desert, a drifter named Ernesto Valenzuela was charged with a similar homicide. He told his lawyer, Thomas O’Toole that he had also killed the couple in the desert in 1962.

Thomas O’Toole was fresh out of law school at the time and just beginning a career with the Federal Public Defender’s Office. He thought when he saw the Macumber case: “They have the wrong guy”. But because of attorney-client privilege, he was not allowed to mention the confession and Valenzuela died in prison taking the truth with him.

Apparently, attorney-client privilege extends beyond the grave. 11 years later, O’Toole, no longer a public attorney was a judge and couldn’t shake the ghost of Ernesto Valenzuela. Judge O’Toole contacted the Justice Project and gave them the info he had on the confession of his late client. In 2012, the Justice project had all of the evidence they needed to present their case to the Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer for a Clemency hearing. Brewer rejected Macumber’s release twice. Later in 2012, Macumber agreed to plead guilty to 2nd degree murder and was released on time served. Talk about political wrangling to avoid a major wrongful imprisonment suit. So William Macumber spent 37 years in prison for something he didn’t do.

*Note! I have taken an oath never to plead guilty to something I am innocent of. Even if they promise me a new Ferrari. Never confess to guilt if you are not guilty. The D.A. will use money to get you to “plead out”. If you are accused of beating your wife and you have never laid a hand on your wife, you are given a choice to fight it in court costing you every penny you’ll ever earn for the rest of your life, OR you can plead guilty and take an anger management class and lose your 2nd amendment right for 10 years. Although you and God know that you are innocent, you will have that guilty plea follow you through life like an albatross. Do not do it.

Let’s continue:

Not surprising, the story doesn’t end there. 5 months later Macumber was back in prison for sexual assault accusations by younger members of Macumber’s own family. I can only wonder; Is this the spouse still trying to keep her ex-husband behind bars or does prolonged incarceration create the criminal? Macumber plead not guilty of the sex assaults but was found guilty at trial and is serving 4 years for sexual assault on a minor.

 Sarti

 David Sarti

David Sarti’s only crime was trusting his doctor. Just as we have attorney-client privilege, we are also supposed to have doctor-patient privilege. (With a caveat). The doctor has the discretion/power to deem his patient mentally defective and a danger to himself. If this happens, you lose your 2nd amendment right and can be detained in a mental institute as long as medical professionals see fit. No judge, no jury and no public defendant. You also become an interest of the F.B.I. as long as you live.

Sadly Sarti had appeared on National Geographic’s television series “Doomsday Preppers”. Sarti is a boisterous somewhat loudmouth that likes to exaggerate and he did so in front of the wrong doctor. His cardiologist Andre C. Olivier said there was nothing wrong with his heart, but they could put tubes in him to help him breathe. I’m not sure what procedure Dr. Olivier was referring to. I can’t see why he would recommend a tracheostomy for obesity. Neither lungs were collapsed so I can’t see chest tubes being inserted in Sarti’s plural cavity. Perhaps his cardiologist was using fear to get Mr. Sarti to lose weight. I do not know what Olivier’s reasoning was. But Sarti made a statement that was not very well thought out. He said something to the effect that he would rather die than have tubes hanging out of him. Dr. Olivier took this as a confession of suicidal tendencies and ordered Sarti to go to the Emergency Room.

Let’s Stop right here. Sarti’s doctor asked Sarti if he was suicidal and Sarti replied: “No I’m a Christian and my religious faith prohibits suicide”. That should have been the end of the conversation.

Regardless; when Sarti refused to go to the Emergency Room and went home; Law enforcement officers were waiting for Mr. Sarti and took him to the E.R. against his will.

Where is the privacy called Physician-patient privilege?

The horror in the Sarti story is not so much what happened to David Sarti. (At least he’s not in prison serving a life sentence) But what has happened to all of us as a result of this? I seriously encourage you to no longer speak freely to your doctor without thinking about the unintended consequences. You MUST consider every sentence and your choice of words that you use when you are in the privacy of your doctor regardless of the Doctor-Patient privilege. I do not think it would be a good Idea to continue to see a doctor you do not have a good relationship with. I would not make an issue of it either. I would silently quit seeing your doctor and search for another doctor.

In both of these examples of privacy, the principle was used to keep an innocent man in jail, and to send an innocent man to a mental institution.  The words of a former, late President keep haunting me.

“The most terrifying words in the English language are:  I’m from the government and I’m here to help. ~ President Ronald Reagan.

FRIENDING, BEFRIENDING AND RESPECT

Add Friend

Social media can offer tremendous value while at the same time offering pernicious abuse. When you go on a forum such as FaceBook or MySpace, you collect an audience called “Friends”.   When FaceBook started, it was a way for college students to network with their “Friends”. That seemed innocent enough.

Then everyone from TV Stars to the girl you sat behind in your sixth grade math class started showing up on FaceBook. So you sent a “Friend request” to see how things have gone with someone you use to know 25 years ago. Many guys looked up old girlfriends to see what they missed out on. (Or not). I think the first public figure I had as a friend on FaceBook was Katee Sackhoff from “Battle star Galactica” and “24”. From a musician’s POV I allowed everyone to be my friend. I’m beginning to think this was more bad than good. CD Baby had a great article on drawing a line between your fans and your friends. As a musician you say you love your fans because without them, you’re nothing.

Terry Anderson, a songwriter that I admired quite a bit wrote a song called: “Stay away from your Heroes”. I believe he was talking about Chuck Berry. Chuck Berry may be the father of Rock and Roll but from what I’ve heard from those who know him personally, you are not missing much if you’re not friends with Chuck. Let me say that I’m quoting others. I’ve never met the man. He could be as nice as Santa Claus. Terry and I were friends for a while and when Obama was elected to the oval office, he accused me of being a racist because I didn’t like his socialist policies. I liked Terry much more before I got to know him. I did learn how to write good songs during my short friendship with Mr. Anderson and I owe him for that. But it saddens me to know that he is a stereotypical leftist who hasn’t grown up yet. If you disagree with the leftist, they will go from “Wanna get together for a beer”? to “ You’re a F’n racist and other names” in 5 seconds or less. If you’re not as radical as the leftist, the leftist wastes no time dumping you as a friend. Unlike the conservative who wants to show respect, kindness and understanding and is willing to give you a second or third chance.

 Block

As a conservative, I will tolerate a great deal of “Snark” or “rhetoric”. There is a fine line between joking and disrespect on-line. The old saying: “It’s not what they say but how they say it” has no meaning in a text format. You can’t insult someone and justify it by putting the ubiquitous “LOL” after it. Perhaps the leftist is spot on. If someone shows you disrespect on line, waste no time in trashing them. (Unfriending them) Unfortunately, if they haven’t grown up, you’re wasting your time.

NEVER LET RELIGION…………..

Bible

STAND IN THE WAY OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Mark Twain once wrote: “Never let school stand in the way of your education”. ~ Brilliant!

Why would a non-believer read the Bible? Why don’t self-proclaimed believers read the Bible? It’s good to know a little bit of historical background about this best seller. I am writing this article to both the self-proclaimed believer and the proud secular self-centered atheist.

The Bible was put together from writings in 325 AD, 12 years after Rome’s Emperor Constantine received a dream. Here is the short version of the dream: In a dream, Emperor Constantine (Who was facing great odds in the battle of the Milvian Bridge) was instructed to put the cross of Jesus on his shields and his men would be victorious. The dream said: “in hoc signo vinces.” Translated from Greek: “Through this sign, you will be victorious”. This was in 313 AD. He did and he was.

Emperor Constantine ceased the persecution of Christians and wanted a manifesto for Christianity so he formed the “Council of Nicea”. They were a group of Rome’s Christians that sorted through the “Sand Scripts” and put together that which was deemed appropriate and approved by the Roman government. So to the non-believer, yes, politics was involved. This is why we don’t see the book of Enoch in the Bible.

The Bible, throughout the years has been given the moniker of “The inspired word of God”. That is for you to accept, reject or consider; *Note, It doesn’t say “The spoken word of God”. Nonetheless, it has been accepted by Christians and Jews as the documented communication between God and man.

We were all created with the gift of Free Will. With this gift comes the albatross called “Responsibility”. You may have heard the phrase: “I’m a grown adult. I can make my own decisions”. I say: “Yes you are and you best be prepared for the unintended consequences”. (Because they belong to you). Remember this sentence: “You are where you are because of who you are”.

You have to take responsibility for your actions for even being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even if you take your god out of the equation, and you are the self-proclaimed arbiter of your own criteria of right and wrong; you are still responsible for your outcome. You may say: “I’m not responsible for being in a car crash, the other guy was on his cell phone”. That may be true, but there will always be other guys on their cell phones. If you’re a pro-active person, you have insurance and you move forward in life. (Hopefully without lifelong sustaining injuries). I always look for distracted drivers on cell phones and consider them legally drunk.

At that point, some choose to blame life, blame their god, blame the other driver, blame Steve Jobs, and blame the police for not catching the text messenger on his phone. But blaming others doesn’t allow you to move forward. Accepting that rain falls on everyone at one time or another will. It’s the cost of Free Will. Bad things happen to good people because God let us run our own lives, rather than creating us “Humanoids”. You cannot have love if the other person does not have the free will to reject you. So those of you who are radio evangelist Christians that think once saved always saved, remember this: “You cannot lose your salvation, but you can willfully walk away from it”. God will not force anyone into heaven.

The Bible is full of rules; “Thou shall nots” and “Thou shalt”. Sometimes if you ignore the “Shall nots”, you’ll suffer the unintended consequences like divorce, which leads to screwed up children that repeat the cycle. Yes, being a human does come with a manual. It’s up to you to find the one you want to base your human experience on.

To the Atheist that reads the Bible as a “Self-Help” Book, I can only say that you will find nuggets of wisdom in the book; however you’re not getting the full benefit of this nice collection of letters and historical accounts of a person who professed to be the One and only God of eternity in the Flesh if you are not open to the idea of an omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient Power. In the first five books of the Old Testament which Jews refer to as the Torah, you have the spoken words of God written by Moses. In the New Testament, you’ll find the words of God spoken through the Son of God in the human called Jesus the Messiah.

You’ll find wisdom that you use every day and you probably didn’t even know it. For example: “You reap what ye sow” is another way of saying: “What goes around comes around”.

The Bible is a good book for the Atheist to determine right from wrong. The hardest thing for the Atheist to understand is that God allows evil to happen. Bitter non-believers are always saying: “Why did God allow this madman to gun down my child on the playground”? Or even more accurately spoken: “How can a loving God allow this to happen”? What we as humans don’t understand is that death might not be “The End”. We often see the suffering of a person and associate that with death thus giving death a negative connotation. When we were a fetus in the womb, we thought that once the cord between our mother was severed, and we were kicked out of the warm womb, life would be over. We didn’t know any better. Then we saw what was our journey for the next 70 to 80 years.

It boils down to this:

It’s harder to get HIV from Heterosexual sex.

It’s easier to go through life not having to remember lies.

It’s easier to work for something and buy it than do 10 years in prison for robbery.

It’s easier to live longer if you don’t fornicate your neighbor’s wife.

It’s easier to be happy if you find your happiness from within rather waiting for someone else to wipe your butt.

It’s easier to go to the store if your name is not on a “Wanted for Murder” poster.

If you create false gods like Golf, Cars, money, self-admiration, Pornography or whatever you worship, you have a greater chance of being disappointed.

If you worship the one God who is the father of Jesus and the Creator of the Holy Spirit; the worst that can happen is you’ve sacrificed worldly pleasures which ARE finite and disposable. (Read the book of Ecclesiastes written by King Solomon, the richest man to ever live) He did it all. He owned mansions and had cool things called “concubines” (look it up) and he did drugs and alcohol. He had treasures and gold as in: “The riches of Solomon”. I think that’s where the term: “It’s good to be king” came from. Wait that was Mel Brooks. In the end he realized that the only constant in his life was not baseball as James Earl Jones says, rather a relationship with the Creator.

The Bible offers insight into what’s next. The Bible offers you a map that shows the bifurcation in the road and how one leads to green pastures and the other a steep deadly cliff.  It invites you to be more than Pavlov’s dog.  It introduces the concept that there is more to life than that which you can see, touch, smell, taste and hear.  Perhaps it borders on “Quantum Physics”.

If the Bible is wrong, and you were a believer, the worst case scenario is you’ve lived a decent life with minimal regrets. If the Bible is right and you were an Atheist, the “after-life” might not be so good a place, ya know? It’s your choice. I could add that when you get to be my age you’ll understand, but you’re not guaranteed tomorrow so don’t worry about judgment day, worry about today.

MR. HATE

Mrhate

Sometimes he comes across as simply obnoxious. His favorite interaction is an insult. If you’re lucky, you’ll get off with him whispering under his voice: “ah blow it out your ass”! If you’re not so lucky, beware. When Mr. Hate goes into silent mode, he is internalizing. That means Look Out for MR. HATE

Many of you may be working next to Mr. Hate and not even know it. He doesn’t always look like the comic character with a red face and eyes about to explode. (And steam coming out of his ears) Sometimes Mr. Hate is a really quiet person, until he takes his hate out with his car on the sidewalk or a car bomb.

 Golden Key

God gave us one fantastic gift. It’s a special key. It’s called free will. But I’ll keep this story on the secular level. (For the sake of the non-believer). Here’s a sentence that can change your life if you think hard enough about it. You are unhappy because you choose to be unhappy. Happiness is an inside out principle. Many of you who have watched the movie “The Secret” know about the law of attraction. That law is “Free Will”. One of the secrets in the Christian religion is to be “Thankful” for your blessings. Sometimes your blessings are hard to find, especially if you’re angry because you’re driving a BMW and you really want a Ferrari. Think about how nice your BMW is compared to a Geo.

 Geo

Mr. Hate got his name because he never found out how to use this key. Have you ever noticed how some people can get stuck in any situation under the worst circumstances and they learn to adapt, improvise and overcome? (ooo-rah) Yes some people it seems were born with the knowledge of the key. Good things happen as a result of knowing the power of the key. The key or free will is based on the concept of Isaac Newton’s theory that for every action there is an opposite, opposed reaction. If you cover a Chimney; the smoke will find other ways to escape. In Mr. Hate’s case, it’s often sarcasm, cruelty and sometimes just bitterness.

In Mr. Hate’s situation; He’s hateful because he chooses to be hateful. When you choose to be hateful you resort to blame. You blame everyone else because of basically three reasons: It is not how I was brought up, (Blaming your parents is often at the top of the list) I’m Irish or German or Swahili and have a short temper, or my boss is a jerk. Your boss can be your coach, spouse, tax account, anyone you rely on for some form of interaction.

How does Mr. Hate manifest his hate or anger? Sometimes it starts out with just snarky little jabs disguised to appear innocent. Sometimes, Mr. Hate uses his hateful persona in the form of fear or intimidation. How many of you have heard someone say: “You don’t want to get on their bad side” or “Just go along with her, it’s not worth listening to the rant”. If Mr. Hate is materialistic and bases life on the amount of toys they have when they die, they tend to neve understand that someone will always have more “Stuff”. Sadly, these people see your Stuff as Crap, while their crap is stuff. (An old George Carlin joke)

Yes you could be driving a Ferrari 308 while Mr. Hate drives his Geo, but in his mind your 308 is worthless because it’s not a 275GTB NART (Current sale price 25 Million and only 10 ever made). Lincoln once said: “You’ll never elevate yourself by trying to bring others down”.

 Dino Nart

Don’t be fooled, Mr. Hate knows the art of denial. Yet his biggest enemy is himself. Not because there is anything wrong with him, but because he’s chosen to stew in his anger rather than pull himself up by the bootstraps and do something about the crappy cards he was dealt. Sometimes you get dealt a deuce, a four a five and a pair of sevens. Sometimes you get 4 Aces dealt to you. When I look at the former I see a possible full house. Mr. Hate didn’t get four Aces so he throws all 5 cards back. Warning, only Mr. Hate can help himself.

Aces

The Secret Power that makes the Special Key work is …………….. Responsibility.

You are WHERE you are because of WHO you are. You choose to be there.
