SPIRITUAL REINCARNATION

SPIRITUAL REINCARNATION
Non-Religious POV

I’ve written an article called “My Christianity” so know that this article is more of a “Theosophical” article than a biblical or religious argument.  Does it conflict with my Christian beliefs which most say equate to “one life one death”.  No.  And I’ll answer that down below the video

One needs to understand the existence of the physical life form and the non-physical life.  The physical life you can confirm by touching a hot stove.   The non-physical takes faith.  Often the evidence of the non-physical life is found in your belief structure.  You get to a point where you stop believing  in the concept of the “coincidence”.   Sometimes, however; we misread or misinterpret that which we have been taught.

When you start to look at your physical/incarnate life from a quantum physics POV, the existence of the soul or “Non-physical life” becomes clearer.  We (Everything we see, taste and touch) are vibrating atoms.  Things that vibrate create a frequency.  Sound is the acoustical result of vibration.  The strongest steel bar is made up of dense vibrating atoms.  So the whole world is vibrating.  (Faster than the eye can see)

Can I give you an example?

What you watch on television are 60 still frames being presented per second.  You can take the frames to a stopping point and if you have a very good toggle control you can scroll through the frames just like those old moving pictures that came in a box of Cracker Jack.  But since it happens so fast we don’t notice it.

The same  principle applies to everything that surrounds us.  This principle of quantum physics can explain “Ghost Hauntings”.  When the mind or non-physical being can manipulate the vibrational structure of atoms, strange things can happen.  It can happen with the living as well.  There are those (Living) who have mental abilities to move objects.  I ask: “Why can’t souls without bodies do the same thing if it is an action based on
invisible frequency”?

So if the Soul is the “eternal” part of our body; does it get recycled?  Watch this great two part video of the most documented case on reincarnation.

SEEING OR NOT SEEING IS NOT BELIEVING OR DISBELIEVING

Just as water is the very essence of life, Man starts his life in “amniotic fluid”.  If you lower the temperature of water if becomes a solid form such as Ice.  If you heat it, it boils.  Just as man leaves the womb, it becomes a solid form.  Much like the cube of Ice.  Over time, Ice melts and evaporates.  Boiling water does the same thing, it evaporates.  But what was once a solid piece of Ice is now a vapor.  The vapor still exists in the form of  “Humidity” or a “Cloud”.  I proclaim that the body and soul work in much the same fashion.  One decomposes (Your body) while the “Life Force” is  released and goes “SOMEWHERE”

I won’t pretend to understand the “Ether” or “Ethereal Realm”.  I believe that’s what God meant when He said: “Don’t dabble in the occult or traffic with mediums; you’ll pollute your souls. I am God, your God”. (Leviticus 19:31) Again, we have an issue of translation.  First, let me say: “NEVER TOUCH A DAMN OUIJA BOARD”. Let me repeat:  “NEVER TOUCH A DAMN OUIJA BOARD”.  That is dabbling in divination and opening Pandora’s box.  Even Mediums will tell you, more bad than good comes from those weapons of “dark vibrational spirits”.  If you believe in Psychic Mediums, understand  that spirits can lie just like Obama. So you can’t trust what you hear from a Medium and like God said: “You’ll pollute your souls“.  It’s also interesting
that God chose the term: “Do not traffic in mediums”.  I translate it as: “Don’t let Mediums be your direction”.  Again, spirits can lie though a Medium like a human saying: “If you like your doctor you can keep him. Period”.

Regarding reincarnation and why it does not conflict with my belief system.  The concept “One life and one death”, I believe refers to the incarnate body and spirit you have now.  In other words; If you die at 21 as Joe Smith, you will not be born again and be the same Joe Smith at 21 with the same parents and siblings.  For the sake of learning; You die as Joe Smith the Wall street guy and might come back as a South Australian Aboriginal.  When that body dies, it goes back into the earth.  Your soul is like a mother board.  In a strange spiritual way, the energy can be put into a different system.  Why we lose our memories of our past lives, I do not know. (Which seems to happen at 4-5 years of age)  I believe Life is a learning  experience.  I believe that we are taught to avoid Mediums as we are not to take “Short cuts” or risk being misled.  We need the true learning experience.  That might be the justification for having to go through another physical life (I know it sounds like Buddhism/Hinduism).  But our creator never said that we shouldn’t ask Why or How life/Soul issues work.  Our admonishments are meant to help us learn and become better spirits.

In the end, you are responsible for your own personal Spiritual belief system.  I’m not claiming everybody gets reincarnated.  I don’t even know why someone would be reincarnated.  But I won’t rule out that there have been those who have had their spirits return.  Jesus told his disciples that the old testament prophet “Elijah” had returned as “John the Baptist” thus fulfilling prophecy.

“I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. He who has ears, let him hear”. Matthew 11:11-15

PRON AKA PORN

Monica Hansen

Pron is the juvenile code word for PORN. I wanted to spew my opinion on pornography. First of all, what is porn? Is nudity porn? Not always. It’s like that saying “I can’t describe it; but I’ll know it when I see it”. Porn is so ubiquitous today, it surrounds us. From the Superbowl to prime time TV, you can’t tune in to anything without having some woman’s cleavage shoved in your face.

My mission statement, especially within this blog, is to try and offer ideas that will make this world a better place.  Simply put, porn is not good for society. Porn has no redeeming value. And the collateral damage from porn is often irreparable. Let me pontificate:

1. Porn desensitizes us to reality. By doing so it makes us insensitive and often disrespectful to the opposite sex.

2. Porn demeans the photographed. Some may think that Marilyn Monroe was art. Images of her in “Some like it hot” can be considered art. Perhaps this was the beginning of our society’s death spiral. But what you don’t see, is an industry that exploits immature girls for a few bucks while the producer profits millions. What’s even worse is that our culture is continually condoning the introduction of porn into our society. “Girls gone wild” should be retitled “Girls gone stupid while embarrassing their parents and ruining their future”.

3. Porn is an addiction for some that is driven by huge profits. It’s worse than smoking. Smoking will eventually kill your body. Porn will kill your soul. Now before you think I’m turning evangelical on you, let me explain. We are a culture of teenagers raised on “Sex and the City”, and “Desperate housewives”. Most teens have computers. Most of these computers are not filtered by parental guidance, meaning ANYTHING is available. So the only thing a person gains from viewing porn is more desensitization and a misguided belief system that most women are like porn actresses. This desensitization ruins the social interaction between males and females when they find themselves in “real” situations. They’ve been educated like Pavlov’s Dog into seeing sex for the physical stimulation only. And like other endorphin releasing stimulants, it’s hard to break away from once you’ve started. Especially for the teenage boy that’s just discovered this private “E” ride. (Disneyland reference)

I was however; shocked to be viewing an episode of CSI, when the conversation of sex without love came up. Grissom says “Sex without love is sad, it makes you feel the opposite. It makes you feel lonely”.

The “Sexual revolution” of the 60’s turned Sex into a handshake. It’s a shame because Boys see having sex as a form of “manhood”, while Girls see sex as “Love”.
Since Al Gore invented the internet (tongue in cheek) Rape has almost doubled in many communities. As a matter of fact, between 1998 and 2001 Rape tripled in the state of Oregon. Is it possible that after a night of drinking and snorting Meth, internet porn just doesn’t do it anymore?

We live in a quick fix society. A time of drive thru restaurants, drive by gang violence, Express commuter lanes, High speed internet service, abortion rates that make the holocaust look like a freeway pile up. We want it, and we want it now.

But the best things in life you still have to wait for. It’s going to take 9 months to see the healthy smile on your child’s face. It takes 162 games, plus 2 rounds of playoffs before you get to watch the world series. And a relationship that grows out of mutual respect and adoration will last much longer than two people that just decided to “hook up”.

Don’t believe me? Get slam drunk every night for a month. Then lay off alcohol for a month. Then see how good just one glass of Cabernet Sauvignon tastes.

Saturation is the enemy of Appreciation.

CRY BABY

Cry Baby

Childhood Luxuries probably start with having someone else doing everything for you.  But once you cross beyond the ability to feed yourself, wipe yourself and work the remote control yourself, you still have certain luxuries which aren’t often afforded by the adult.  Temper tantrums are not specifically endemic to children.  Some of the biggest temper tantrums I’ve ever seen were by the most ignorant congressional representatives on the house floor, or by the head of marketing at a board meeting.

Recess use to be great.  15 minutes every 2 hours to go outside and swing like a jungle creature on the “Monkey bars” (Can I still say that)?  In 6th grade I had a girlfriend.  We passed notes. “I like you, do you like me”?  “Will you be my girlfriend”?  Talk about low maintenance romance.

But what  I think came natural, and kept us somewhat healthy as children was the ability to cry spontaneously.

This morning I heard my neighbor’s grand kid crying outside of the house.  I could see she was trying to hide her tears.  At first I felt really bad for her.  I mean; how can a human with a beating heart not feel emotion for a child crying?  Then the analytical/conservative popped his head in and said: “Ah she’s probably a spoiled little brat that didn’t get the new X-box game or whatever the new “gotta have” material object is”.

Then my higher-self descended on me and said: “Such a wonderful thing”.  The ability to externalize something you perceive to be wrong or a misdeed.  Maybe dealing with disappointed emotions was in progress.  Perhaps she realized that she may never get to meet Justin Bieber.  I don’t know.

I just think that as adults, there’s a fine line between physically letting our emotions play out, suppressing them while living in denial, or just having a self-pity party.

I don’t think kids have pity parties. (Separating the tantrum from the crying)  To them, the crying is real.  They don’t realize that not getting to see Justin Bieber is not the end of the world.  But the hurt is still there.

I think as adults, we suppress a lot of hurt.  As men, we suppress 99.9% of the pain as we’re expected to buck up and “Be a man”.  We try to deal with it by submerging our life into our work.  We justify our displeasure by saying things could have been worse.  We self-medicate with Alcohol, drugs, Sports or Television.

BE A MILLIONAIRE INSTEAD.

Ace Andres House

Nobody Knows you (When you’re down and out)

Once I lived the life of a millionaire, Spent all my money, I had not one care Took all my friends out for a mighty good time Bought bootleg whisky, champagne and wine.

Then I began to fall so low Lost all my good friends, had nowhere to go. I get my hands on that dollar again, I’m gonna hang on to it till that old eagle grins.

Cause no, no, nobody knows you When you’re down and out. In your pocket, not one penny, And as for friends, you don’t have any.

When you finally get back upon your feet again, Everybody wants to be your good old long-lost friend. Said it’s mighty strange without any doubt,Nobody knows you, Nobody knows you, Nobody knows you when you’re down and out.

(Lyrics by Jimmy Cox 1923)

**************************************************************************

Why is it that money can make or break a person or a relationship? Often times it’s totally out of your hands. But if you’re steadily trading hours for dollars, then you’re accepted. Nothing shows you what your relationship is like until you lose your income.

Ironically, win the lottery and your friends come out of the woodwork.

So why shouldn’t man have a “love” for money?  It’s true. Money can’t buy you happiness. But poverty will buy you a whole lot of loneliness. You could be the nicest guy in the world but lose your job and you’re among the “unfortunate”. I bet it was easier when my ancestors were killing animals for survival. Nobody could take away your bow and arrow. But now, we do things the “White man” way. You have 3 choices, Work for the man.  Work for yourself by starting your own business, or work the system.eg, welfare, food stamps and section 8 housing.

All 3 have major drawbacks.

Working the system has no future.

Working for someone else has a dismal future

And working for yourself takes balls.

As more jobs get “outsourced” to China and Asia, the unemployment rate will continue to rise.

The Bible preaches: “The Love of Money is the ROOT of MANY Evils” (this is always misquoted) But in our time, money is no different from air, water, food and shelter. It’s a need. I don’t have a “love” for air. I don’t have a love for “water”. But take them away and see what happens. The same can be said for money. The response time is just longer. People have committed suicide over money. The biggest cause for divorce is money. (either making it or not having it) People are in jail for not paying the government their share of it.

It goes on.

What’s my advise? Be a Millionaire. Read some Wallace Wattle books or Napoleon Hill books, but make as much of it as you can get your hands on. Remove the word greed from your vocabulary; and I’ll tell you why.  If you’re in a position to make honest money, a lot of it, do it.  Don’t stop when you think you have enough. I’m not saying be a miser. Give 10 percent away. But make all the money you’re capable of making.

Why?

SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE BLAMES HILLARY

The Senate Intelligence Committee

On Benghazi

479px-Hillary

The Senate Intelligence Committee came out with its’ report on the attack and murder of U.S. Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi.  The committee consists of a bi-partisan amount of Republicans led by Saxby Chambliss and Democrats led by Dianne Feinstein.  The committee concluded that then, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was at fault for the lack of security and eventual death of Ambassador Stevens.

The Bi-partisan Committee alleged that Secretary Clinton was too busy traveling and neglected her administrative duties.  She ignored multiple requests from the Embassy for more security in spite of the British pulling out and a previous terrorist attack.

Ambassador_christopher_stevens

Furthermore, the committee found no evidence of a spontaneous eruption due to any form of video or media being released.  This is a story that was fabricated by the White House as Susan Rice was sent out immediately to report this story to five talk shows on the following Sunday.

Hillary Clinton knew the truth about Benghazi and actively participated in the cover up as she stood there in front of the coffins of the four dead bodies including Stevens and his staff as she lied to the families of the four deceased.

Funeral OBILLARY

This was a convenient deception as Obama would run for re-election on the “decimation” of Al Qaeda which was the alleged reason for denying Ambassador Stevens the added security.

It seems that Hillary Clinton has been playing first Lady for the last 20 years and will do what is asked even at the cost of her own morals or conscience.  Unfortunately the committee’s findings raise more questions than it answers, such as why were there so many CIA and Missile to air weapons in Libya?  Who came up with the “YouTube” video cover up?  Is the creator of the Video still in jail?  This I know is true: “We will not get these answers unless the Republicans get a majority in both houses of the Congress.

B Cup

THIS IS A B CUP

This is a story about personal preference in the female appearance.  It’s about trying to clear up awful misconceptions and insecurities women have about their looks.  Let me just come right out and say it.  “THE SIZE OF YOUR BREASTS DO NOT MATTER”.  In fact I believe in that statement so much that I got fired from assisting a plastic Surgeon as a result of a conversation we were having about breast “augmentation”.  In fact, breast implants are to a cosmetic surgeon as Tonsillectomies and P.E. Tubes are to a pediatric Ear Nose and Throat surgeon.  It’s their “bread and butter”.

From this Man’s point of view (POV) breast are for babies.  From an anatomical POV, breast are fat cells that protect mammary glands.  These glands create breast milk to nourish the new born.  I have never been one to stare at a woman’s breasts.  It’s been my experience that a woman with truly large breast, will eventually (before she hits 40) have a truly large waste line to match them.  That usually comes with a really large matching ass and extremities.

I live in a part of the U.S. that has many casinos.  I’ve had the “joy” to see many “show girls”.  The first time I ever saw a choreography show, the women were all topless. (Much to my surprise. Seriously)  Let me preface this by saying each one had a fabulous body; but not one of them had a B cup or larger.  I wasn’t able to go backstage to interview any of the dancers, but I know a person who knows a person who is involved in the casino entertainment industry.   I was told that they work so hard; they literally dance the fat off of their breasts.

That impressed me.

This impresses me even more.

GR8

The common infantile view of a male who seeks a woman with large breasts I’ve always felt came from being breast fed as a child.  I’ve never done any research and I have no science to back it up, but I can only speak for myself. (Bottle fed).  I’ve never turned my head when a woman with large breasts walked by.  I certainly would not insist that a woman I dated who was a b cup or smaller subject herself to the blade.  Again, I believe that the attraction to the fat cells of a woman’s breast, are an infantile attraction.  It says a lot about the guy as well.  So ladies B cup and under, if a guy wants you to have breast implants; RUN.  And guys, if a woman is saving for an augmentation; RUN.  Deep within her lays an insecurity that needs to be healed in a psychiatrist’s office. (Not a cosmetic surgeon’s operating room).

THE SURGERY

In the old days, surgeons actually made incisions around the nipple and literally STUFFED bags of silicon into the fat cells.  The result was a fake looking augmentation.  Then in the late 90s after many implants by Dow had exploded at 20,000 feet on American Airlines, surgeons went to an inflatable implant that was filled with Saline (Salt water).  At the same time, the very advanced surgeon would make an incision in your armpit, then slide the implant under one of your chest muscles and THEN fill it with saline.  The problem is: “size”.  It’s kind of like the argument for minimum raise.  Some say it should be 10.00 and hour, some say 15.00 an hour while pundits say: “Why not 100.00 an hour”?  The same decision has to be made by the patient.

Have you ever seen a guy in his late 30s, who has been gray for 10 years, all of a sudden show up at work with jet black hair?  The term “FAKE” gets circulated through the whole building.  Such is the case when your co-worker goes from

Twiggy

“Twiggy” to

morganna

Morganna”

So let’s finish my story about getting fired by a plastic surgeon.  Doctor So and So asked me in the middle of a breast augmentation: “What my opinion was about women with implants”.  I said: “I wasn’t impressed by big breasts and that woman who felt they needed an augmentation had insecurity issues”.  Hey, it was just my opinion.  As it turns out, the nurse who was in the room was a previous patient of the surgeon.

The surgeon responded with a Freudian response. ” He said: “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”.  I responded: “I hate cigars”.

A month later I was once again a full time musician.  What can I say?  I decided once I got divorced that I would stay away from women with 3 things.

  1. Cosmetic surgery.  (Optional surgery, not elective)
  2. Tattoos
  3. Women who smoked.

Sometimes a Cigar is a Trojan horse.

SEX, BIOLOGY and The BIBLE

teacher chalk board

Guys, did you ever wonder why you would get a Spontaneous almost painful  Erection in High School just sitting in your English class?  Perhaps it was because the hottest Cheer Leader was sitting in the row across from you and it was a Friday and all the Cheer Leaders wore their short skirts that day.  Or maybe you had a hot teacher who just graduated with her teaching degree and it was late May and the school didn’t have air conditioning so she wore that skirt that kept creeping up her thighs every time she sat down at her desk, which was right in front of you and since she was the new teacher, she got a desk with no “modesty shield”.  So you spent the whole hour staring between her uhmm  “desk cabinet drawers”.  You feared being called to stand up or even worse go to the chalk board and correct the poorly written paragraph while everyone in the class was wondering if that salami was your lunch in your front pocket.

It’s a response from the “Autonomic Nervous system”.  It’s  part of your “Sub-conscious” mind.  If you’re like  me and your stomach flutters when you see a window washer’s view of the street on TV from the 26th floor looking down, it’s your ANS sending a warning to your conscious mind.  (Even if it’s just on the television).  The Autonomic Nervous system is part of the same nervous system that tells your heart to beat, your lungs to inhale and exhale, and yes, it tells your sex organs to reproduce.  It’s not something you can control especially if you’re a young virile male between the ages of 16 and 20.  Unfortunately, this becomes a conditioned response that invades our conscious mind.  So as we grow older, we maintain this stimulus response which causes many divorces and unwanted pregnancies in our society. (Or so I’m told) What makes this worse is that we’re scripted at a young age that sex is bad.  And if you’ve read my blog, you know that “People basically don’t want what they don’t have; They want what they can’t have”.  This causes problems once you’ve sworn an oath of exclusivity to another human.  If it’s any comfort to the recently divorced cheater, It’s not the desire to have extra-marital sex that was your flaw, it was ignoring your commitment to your spouse that you were guilty of.  There’s a fine line between wanting and seeking.  It’s unfair because it’s normal to want, but a sin to seek.

LUST

September X
1. intense sexual desire or appetite.
2. uncontrolled or illicit sexual desire or appetite; lecherousness.
3. a passionate or overmastering desire or craving (usually followed by for ): a lust for power.
4. ardent enthusiasm; zest; relish: an enviable lust for life.
COVETING

2. to wish for, especially eagerly: He won the prize they all coveted.
verb (used without object)
3. to have an inordinate or wrongful desire.
NATURE

1.The material world, especially as surrounding humankind and existing independently of human activities.
2. the natural world as it exists without human beings or civilization.
3. the elements of the natural world, as mountains, trees, animals, or rivers.
4. natural scenery.
5. the universe, with all its phenomena.

Is it wrong to look at a member of the opposite sex with admiration and attraction?  Judeo – Christian ethics  admonish most forms of “Lust” and equate it with Lasciviousness.  The verb Covet is usually preceded by the words “Thou shall not”.
and ends with, “They Neighbor’s ________ ” (fill in the hole) No pun intended.
              2012-Kate-Upton
If you look at the Webster dictionary definitions of Lust and Covet, it gives the religious admonishments a slightly different meaning.  Jesus said: “Who so ever looks upon another woman, has committed lust in his heart”.  Does that mean that if I stand and drool at the cover of the Sports Illustrated’s Kate Upton swim suit issue, I’m going to hell?
I say NO ! (emphatically)
If I live next door to Kate Upton and watch her sun bathe then go borrow a cup of sugar with a condom in my back pocket? Is that lust? Yes indeed.  It’s the “Intention” motivated by the thought.
Thou Shalt not COVET thy Neighbors wife.  (Or Car or House etc…)  Does this mean that if I look at my neighbor’s Ferrari and say: “Golly gee; I wish I had one of those”.  And I start a savings account for my 328, is that Coveting my neighbors car?
Again, NOPE !!!!
ferrari-308
If I say: “Golly gee I want my neighbor’s car”. Then I wait until my neighbor goes out of town and I break into his garage and hot wire his 328 and hide it in a storage space across town; was that coveting?  Yes.  Same goes for my neighbors wife.  But thank god in my neighborhood, I don’t have such temptations.  (But you get the Idea) You’ve heard the famous wife saying look but don’t touch.  I say, Judeo – Christian ethics say look but don’t plan.  Or look but don’t think with (key word) Wanton.
Bible
Why do men enjoy staring at naked attractive women?  Why does Cosmopolitan sell (or used to sell) millions of magazines with articles that start out “Have better sex….”? It’s because our maker designed us to be fruitful and to multiply.  One of the many side effects of Estrogen and Testosterone is a “chemical” attraction to the opposite sex.  In the pre-media days, I’m sure looks were based on health. (I’ve a great article on why we find certain people attractive).  It’s nature.  It’s the same physiology that makes dogs in heat “present” and males try to “Spread their DNA”.  It’s natural to stand and stare at a beautiful woman or guy.  To go any further determines if you are lusting or coveting.  If not; you’re just acting the way you were wired. (well, for most of us) The ability to know the difference is what separates us from the animal kingdom.

Excuses and Motivation

Excuses versus Motivation:

Cell small

Why didn’t you call? Uh, I was going to but…….. I lost your number. My phone got run over by an Amtrak. I won the lottery and you can kiss my ass. I had to take my grandmother to the hospital. Mercury is retrograde.

One thing you come to learn with age is, if you want to do something, you’ll find a way to do it. It’s all about motivation. For most of us deciding what to do amounts to doing what is the least miserable chore. If someone doesn’t call you back, it’s because calling you back wasn’t that important to them.  They lacked motivation.  Take that for what it’s worth. The house could have caught on fire and calling the fire department was more important. (along with the Insurance agent and your realtor) or, this person chose to go to lunch instead. Perhaps hunger was more important than calling or texting you back. Perhaps watching a Duck Dynasty re-run was more important than calling you back.  When the motivation is not there, Excuses come out of thin air.  In Los Angeles you can get away with just saying: “Ah Dude, I flaked”.  That’s an acceptable excuse. (To some)

money_081114

On the other hand, if you had just won the Mega-millions Lottery and had too much money on your hands, just the rumor that you wanted someone to return your call would have had your phone ringing off the hook. “It’s all about motivation”  Here’s another great example of motivation?  When a limited number of playoff or Championship tickets go on sale and it’s your team in the playoffs,  You will build a lean-to, in the snow, out in front of the stadium ticket window the night before to be first in line.  THAT is motivation.  If you’re on the beach and the enemy is shooting down at you and your only choice is to charge the hill or stay on the beach until you are killed, you go dodging bullets up the hill to engage the enemy.  THAT is motivation.

When you ask a woman to marry you, and she says she has to “think” about it. The motivation isn’t there. Actually, I believe that you shouldn’t have to ask someone to marry you. If you don’t know what their response is going to be before you ask, you aren’t ready to get married.

In between stimulus and response there lays a space.  And in that space lays our opportunity to show motivation or make up an excuse.  Your decision affects your future.  The rest of your life starts right now.  Don’t make excuses.  Make smart decisions based on knowledge and principles.

Today’s Gurus preach: “Do it now”. It’s a form of self-motivation. It’s the cure for procrastination.

Stephen R. Covey says: Do what’s important now, before it becomes urgent. (I miss Stephen)

Your Unique Happiness

Your own unique

Happiness

Ace Andres Avatarsmaller

Define happiness!  Is it a new car? Is it fame, wealth, sex, peace of mind? Is it having fun? Maybe it’s getting your boss off of your back. Maybe it’s having a mistress to take your mind off of your miserable marriage. Maybe it’s getting that promotion and the recognition that comes with it. Ya think?

Ferrari

To quote the writer of the book of Ecclesiastes: they’re “All Vanities”.

Vanity is defined by Webster’s dictionary as:

  1. The quality or condition      of being vain.
  2. Excessive pride in one’s      appearance orAccomplishments
  3. Conceit. See Synonyms at      conceit.

You see King Solomon (the probable writer of the Hebrew Old Testament book Ecclesiastes) had wealth and fame beyond yours or my imagination.  In his book he talks about what he did to try to find meaning in the physical life. He writes about his mansions, money, concubines (mistresses/sex partners) achievements and referred to them all as “Vanities“. He believed that his only real purpose for being on this earth was to have a close relationship with God.

I agree, but feel Solomon’s summary was incomplete. I believe that God put us here with a unique and individual purpose. I have come to believe that we are here to experience happiness and to become.  (Become what)?  To become what only we can be.

Einstein once said, “Everybody is a genius at something”. “Is it fair to judge a fish by his ability to climb a tree, he’ll go on thru life thinking he’s a failure”.

So what are we here for? To find that unique person that you were meant to be and become it. What is that perfect complete person?  It’s the person you’ve become once you’ve found a way to combine your burning passion, special talent and needs. What then is happiness? It’s ANYTHING you DO that takes you in the direction of that goal. Just knowing who that potential person is will bring you happiness.

Matthew Kelly calls it the “best version of you“.

This life is oh so short. Most of us will live less than 100 years. From the day we’re born, we start our journey towards death. We wander aimlessly thru life worrying about needs. So we get meaningless jobs that pay us money. Life amounts to a simple equation for most of us:

Life = Time/work x (Money – expenses)

Your life is simple. Your focus is on survival. You convert time into money and give it to others so you can have a roof over your head, food in the fridge and strings for your guitar. (Or perhaps wheels on your car etc….)

Then you wake up one day in intensive care and wonder where your life went. But every breath you take of every second of every day is a chance to start your life over.

I subscribe to a different belief structure:

1. Discover what your God given talent is. (Your inner voice) We all have one. Someone in your life has told you that you are great at something.  It’s something you do that makes you lose track of the time.

2. Review your needs. Rent/mortgage food etc……

3. List the opportunities in that field and find a way to combine them all so you can work in a field you love and get paid for it.

Stevie Ray Vaughan, the legendary blues guitarist, was working at a burger stand. One night he was told to clean the grease vats. He was standing on top of a huge 50 gallon barrel of grease (from the deep fat fryers) when the lid broke and Stevie fell into the barrel of grease up to his armpits. He said: “This is enough of this shit I’m gonna play guitar for a living”.  Sure, Stevie Ray went without for a long time, yet eventually became known as one of the world’s greatest Blues masters.

If you become the person God wants you to become. You are then doing God’s will. And God didn’t design everyone to be missionaries or preachers or nuns or elders. But he did give you a special blessing.  My biggest fear in Life is to be standing at the Pearly Gates and have to answer why I neglected the special endowments God blessed me with.  I will be quick to plead ignorance then say I tried.

Find out who you were meant to become. Work on becoming that person. Then know happiness.

Monogamy

Monogamy vs. Polyamory

With all due respect to those of this community that practice “polyamory”, the principles of infidelity in a two person relationship is flawed.  When I say a two person relationship, I mean two people that have come together under the law, come together under their god and come together under the same roof.Going outside of the relationship for your intimate needs lessons your relationship because you’re not getting the most out of what that relationship has to offer. People usually cannot see the beauty of what their partner has to offer because they’re more concerned with what their own personal needs are or that their partner doesn’t know what pleases them. (Me, me, me)

That’s a lack of communication and respect.

If you are in a conventional two person relationship, and your S.O. wants to go outside the relationship for things that were reasons for entering the exclusive two person relationship, eventually there will come a time when one or the other says: “What’s the point of being trapped in this fake relationship”?

What’s the point of living with the same person, when you’re dining and sleeping with someone else? What’s the point of sharing financial responsibilities if one party is spending the disposable income on entertaining someone outside the circle of intimacy?

Why not face reality; divorce and be free to see as many people as wish as often as you wish?

The reason is:

Deep down inside; we want someone that we trust to be there.  We want someone who will race to the emergency room when all hell has broken loose. We know that two people that “cleave together” live longer than those who live alone and use other people for social stimulation. We know that the bond between two humans is so great than when someone in an LTR dies, the survivor usually follows 2 to 6years later.

We know that when you live with someone long enough and are truthful and respecting of them, it makes you a better person. We learn more from exclusive relationships about ourselves if we’re open minded enough to look inward and see what it is we’re doing or not doing.

Anyone can put their best foot forward in a date. But this person could be someone entirely different 18 months later.

Speaking as a musician; I’ve dated more people than I can remember. Seriously!  Strangers have come up to me claiming to have slept with me years ago. It’s embarassing and sad to a point.
