I believe in “A Higher Power”.  Some call Him “Source Energy” The term “Great Divine” has also been used.  I prefer to call Him “God”.

But the concept of Free Will demands that we have an “Antagonist”.  Some use the terms Satan, Lucifer or Beelzebub.  Let’s just use the term “The Devil”.  Be ye not deceived; the Devil is a formidable opponent.  He prowls around the planet like a lion looking to devour his prey.

MrO

When I look back at some of the most thoughtless decisions I made growing up, I chalked it up to immaturity.  Recently Fox host Bill O’Reilly has been on a campaign blaming the breakdown of the family unit for the crime and violence in mostly inner city neighborhoods and I believe to a degree he is correct.  But in a land where “Free Will” is a coveted privilege, what makes fatherless boys choose violence over productivity?  Is it man’s basic nature to hurt their fellow man?

I suggest that Satan or the Devil has a greater influence on the fatherless child than the mother alone.  I come from a very fractured home.  My mom died when I was 11 and my father passed when I was in the middle of the Pacific ocean in 1976.  I was still (In spiritual terms) a child.  I was lucky in that I had some positive influences placed in my life.  Leroy Stuckey got me Baptized at the age of 17.  Trust me, I had no Idea what I was doing nor did I have any concept or relationship with the Supreme Being or his Son.  But I went through the motions.

I think I became a prime slice of beef for Satan as I made some hurtful, desperate, even “foolish” decisions that would have massive unintended consequences.  There were many times when my own stupidity could have landed me in jail.  But for some unexplainable reason, something would happen and I would be overlooked.  I called it luck back then, but as my spirit has grown, I realize that God must have seen something in this worthless human that wasn’t so worthless.

I’m not saying you should blame Satan for your poor decisions in life.  I’m AM saying Thank your Source Energy/Supreme Being/Creator/Higher Power or “God” for allowing you to continue in this learning experience we call life

YOUR GUNS & THE 2nd AMENDMENT

AR15

I feel a tremendous responsibility to write this article though I am a little apprehensive. Thinking about the possibility of rising up against our own government is a frightening thing for many of us. I am not Johnny Rambo and I will be the first to admit that I do not want to die. The reason I feel compelled to write this, however, is simply because I don’t think the average American is equipped with the facts. I feel that a lot of American citizens feel like they have no choice but to surrender their guns if the government comes for them. I blame traditional media sources for this mass brainwash and I carry the responsibility of all small independent bloggers to tell the truth. So my focus today is to lay out your constitutional rights as an American, and let you decide what to do with those rights.

About a month ago I let the “democracy” word slip in a discussion with a fellow blogger. I know better. Americans have been conditioned to use this term. It’s not an accurate term and it never has been a correct term to describe our form of government. The truth is that the United States of America is a constitutional republic. This is similar to a democracy because our representatives are selected by democratic elections, but ultimately our representatives are required to work within the framework of our constitution. In other words, even if 90% of Americans want something that goes against our founding principles, they have no right to call for a violation of constitutional rights.

If you are religious you might choose to think of it this way… Say that members of your congregation decide that mass fornication is a good thing. Do they have the right to change the teachings of your God? The truth is the truth. It doesn’t matter how many people try to stray from it. Did I just compare our founders to God? In a way I did, but please note that I am not trying to insult anyone. For the purpose of the American Government our constitution and founders who wrote it are much like God is to believers. It is the law. It is indisputable.

Our founders did not want a “democracy” for they feared a true democracy was just as dangerous as a monarchy. The founders were highly educated people who were experienced in defending themselves against tyranny. They understood that the constitution could protect the people by limiting the power of anyone to work outside of it much better than a pure system of popularity. A system of checks and balances was set up to help limit corruption of government and also the potential for an “immoral majority” developing within the American People. We have forgotten in this country that we are ultimately ruled by a constitution.

Why is a democracy potentially just as dangerous as a monarchy? Let’s look at something that Benjamin Franklin said because it answers that question more fully and succinctly than I can.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. -Benjamin Franklin

Even 230+ years ago our founders were perceptive enough to realize that democracy was a dangerous form of government. How so? Because the citizens of a country can become just as corrupt as any government. We have seen evidence of this throughout history. Ask Native Americans and African-Americans if this population can become corrupt.

I think in 2014 we are seeing evidence of what Franklin was trying to tell us. Just because a majority of people may support certain ideas it does not mean that those ideas are just. In simple terms, just because most Americans love our president and voted for him, it does not mean that he has the power to go against our constitutional rights.

Next I’d like to review the text of the second amendment. It is very clear. This is the law of this land. So when Senator Feinstein or President Obama talk about taking your guns, you need to think about something. Are they honoring their sworn oath to uphold the constitution?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

This is a pretty clear statement. The fact is that it took 232 years for the Supreme Court to even rule on this amendment because it has never been successfully challenged. In 2008 a case of Columbia v. Heller the Supreme Court ruled that a handgun ban in Washington D.C. was unconstitutional. One also has to take this into consideration. The Supreme Court supports your right to own guns. If you want to research this decision further you can start here.

For those who try to debate the spirit of the 2nd amendment, they are truly no different from people who will try to take Biblical quotes out of context to try to support their immoral decisions. The founders were very clear on the intent of the 2nd amendment. Let me share a few quick quotes here:

The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. -Thomas Jefferson

Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good. -George Washington

The Constitution shall never be construed….to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. -Samuel Adams

I could find hundreds of quotes like these. This country was built on the right to bear arms. It was built on the rights of an individual to bear arms, regardless of what his government or neighbor happened to think. This is crystal clear. Ironically the people who voice their opinions against this right have their free speech protected by your guns. Without guns in this country, all other amendments become null and void, simply because “We the People” will lose our power of enforcement.

We need to keep this in mind as our “representatives” try to push gun bans. I don’t care if 99% of people are in support of gun bans (which is far from the case), it is a violation of our constitutional rights, plain and simple.

A constitutional republic protects the rights of the individual even when their ideas are very much in the minority. If I were the only person in America who believed in the 2nd amendment, I would still be within my rights to call upon it. You would all think I was insane and possibly celebrate if I was gunned down, but in the end I would be the only true American among us.

Our framers were very clear on this. If my government comes to take my guns, they are violating one of my constitutional rights that is covered by the 2nd amendment.

It is not my right, at that point, but my responsibility to respond in the name of liberty. What I am telling you is something that many are trying to soft sell, and many others have tried to avoid putting into print, but I am going to say it. The time for speaking in code is over.

If they come for our guns then it is our constitutional right to put them six feet under. You have the right to kill any representative of this government who tries to tread on your liberty. I am thinking about self-defense and not talking about inciting a revolution. Re-read Jefferson’s quote. He talks about a “last resort.” I am not trying to start a Revolt, I am talking about self-defense. If the day for Revolution comes, when no peaceful options exist, we may have to talk about that as well. None of us wants to think about that, but please understand that a majority can not take away your rights as an American citizen. Only you can choose to give up your rights.

Congress could pass gun ban legislation by a 90%+ margin and it just would not matter. I think some people are very unclear on this. This is the reason we have a Supreme Court, and though I do not doubt that the Supreme Court can also become corrupt, in 2008 they got it right. They supported the constitution. It does not matter what the majority supports because America is not a democracy. A constitutional republic protects the rights of every single citizen, no matter what their “elected servants” say. A majority in America only matters when the constitution is not in play.

I just wrote what every believer in the constitution wants to say, and what every constitutional blogger needs to write. The truth of the matter is that this type of speech is viewed as dangerous and radical or subversive, and it could gain me a world of trouble that I do not want. It is also the truth. To make myself clear I will tell you again. If they come for your guns it is your right to use those guns against them and to kill them. You are protected by our constitution.

Most of the articles I am reading on the subject are trying to give you clues without just coming out and saying it. I understand that because certain things in this country will get you on a list that you don’t want to be on. I may well be on that list. This blog is small and growing so I may not be there yet, but I have dreams. I also have my own list of subversives and anyone who attempts to deny my constitutional rights is on that list.

I am not the “subversive” here, it is the political representatives who are threatening to take away my inalienable rights. If they come to take my guns and I leave a few of them wounded or dead, and I somehow survive, I have zero doubt that I will spend a long time in prison and may face an execution. But I would much rather be a political prisoner than a slave.

If I go down fighting then I was not fighting to harm these human beings. I was simply defending my liberty and yours. It is self-defense and it is what our country was built on. We won our freedom in self-defense. We would not be ruled by a tyrannical government in the 1770’s and we will not be ruled in 2014 by a tyrannical government. There is no difference.

This is a case of right and wrong. As of now the 2nd amendment stands. It has never been repealed. If Feinstein or Barack have a problem with the constitution then they should be removed from office. They are not defending the constitution which they have sworn an oath to protect. It is treasonous to say the least. They would likely say the same about me, but I have the constitution, the founders, and the supreme court on my side. They only have their inflated egos.

I am not writing this to incite people. I am writing this in hopes that somehow I can make a tiny difference. I have no idea how many of my neighbors have the will to defend their constitutional rights. 2%? 20%? I am afraid that 20% is a high number, unfortunately. When push comes to shove many people may give up and submit to being ruled. I believe that our government is banking on this.

What I do know is that this country was founded by people who had balls the size of Texas and Patriotic Americans take **** off of no one, especially our own government. For evidence of that, you might research the Revolutionary War. My question is how many Patriots are left?

I would hope that our officials come to realize that, regardless of our numbers, we still exist because they are calling Patriotic Americans to action. They are making us decide if we want to die free or submit to their rule. I can not tell you where you should stand on that. I do know that it may make the difference between living a life of freedom or slavery.

You must start thinking about this because I believe that the day is coming soon and I personally believe it has already been planned. Not all conspiracy theories are hogwash. They may throw down the gauntlet soon and my suggestion is that you prepare yourself to react.

I mean no disrespect to our elected officials but they need to understand that “We the People” will not be disarmed. If they proceed then it is they that are provoking us and we will act accordingly. We are within our rights to do so.

For those who are in support of taking the guns, you need to ask yourself a very important question, and I am not just talking about the politicians, because if you support them, you have chosen your side.

Are you willing to die to take my guns?

Democrats/Obama will try anything

affair

IS THIS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? PROBABLY.  French sources are saying that the Washington Post is going to go public with a story that Obama had an affair with Beyoncé.  I must throw the B.S. flag on the French.   I thought Obama was gay anyway

Michelle PO.

The story however, does represent a desperate attempt to “bait” stupid Republicans into making a political issue out of it ala Monica Lewinski.  Would an affair hurt the Obama administration? No, not at all.  In fact it would be the equivalent of Clinton bombing Bosnia to get the media off of the Lewinski story.

It’s Ironic how Obama is so corrupt, he’s using the Lewinski strategy to distract from the seriousness of far greater atrocities executed by this despot.  No, Beyoncé is no distraction from the death of Brian Terry as a result of gun running in the Fast and Furious program.

She’s no distraction from the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stephens and his three protectors.

She’s no distraction from Lois Learner who took the 5th on the floor of Congress when there was not a “smidgeon of Corruption in the IRS.

She can’t replace Edward Snowden when it comes to the hundreds of Millions around the world who had their privacy invaded by the NSA.

And lastly, she’s no distraction from the Gray Elephant in the living room called “Obamacare”.

But again I ask: “Isn’t Barry Obama gay”?

WINGS OF EAGLES

WINGS OF EAGLES

Bald Eagle coming in for a landing

The single most important thing you can do right now to make yourself a better person is to practice Agape Love.  Not only will it make you a better person, but it will release your mind from the chains of emotional bondage.

So He or She left you.  You prbably feel like bird droppings.  If you go out into the world and smile at an old person, or offer to help them get a loaf of bread off of a shelf they can’t reach, you will raise your spiritual vibrations. Love is the spiritual vibration that is at the top of the human ladder.  And here’s a secret.  When you start loving people, I mean really feeling for people, wonderful things will happen to you.  When you say things to other people that make them feel good, it comes back to you.  I’m not talking about Karma either.

Karma involves a score card,  Agape love is a practice that makes you a higher level human being.  And the best time to show love is when you need it yourself.  The best way to rid your self of that feeling of hunger is to give your lunch to someone that hasn’t eaten in a day.

When you can look at your fear, or pain or embarassment and realize that you can RISE ABOVE IT, Your God or higher being or source energy will lift you up to soar with wings of Eagles.

WILL HISTORY REPEAT?

BlackPanthers

It’s my semi-humble opinion that Obama is the most transparent corrupt public official the United States has ever seen.  The question is, will his corruption be enough to overcome the throng of welfare queens and Food stamp surfers that he’s created.  Has it become a culture yet?

History in my life time has been predictable, but not as predictable as I had expected.  Unless the level of corruption is overcome the Republican Party, barring any scandals, should prevail.

In 1973, Richard Nixon made the mistake of trying to cover up his knowledge of the Watergate break in.  He had no direct involvement in the break in, but he knew and actively participated in the cover up.  After the Watergate hearings where Erlichman, Haldeman and Dean testified against the president, it fired up the Left and even though Richard Nixon did what the Left wanted and brought an end to our involvement in Vietnam; the majority of the public still wanted Nixon’s head on a platter and blamed Republicans.  In 1976, a “Sock Monkey” with a Jack Ass Lapel pin could have won the 1976 election.  Nixon had tarnished the Republican Brand.

The majority of the country raced to whom ever the Democrats nominated.  A “Sock Monkey with a Jack Ass Lapel did win.  Jimmy Carter took our economy and tossed it like a Frisbee into the Grand Canyon.  By 1979, Iran had taken 52 Americans hostage in Tehran and Americans saw prices in stores double.  We had double digit inflation.  It was obvious that a “Sock Monkey” with an Elephant lapel pin could win.

The Majority of America went racing to what the Republicans had to offer. Fortunately, the Republicans had a serious candidate in Ronald Wilson Reagan who will go down as the greatest American President of the 20th century.  Reagan’s accomplishments are to numerous to go into at this time.  Reagan was far from a sock monkey.  He may have been a former “B” actor, but the public knew him and more importantly, trusted him.

In a fluke election in 1992, Bill Clinton became the recipient of Ross Perot’s hit job on the conservative vote.  In my opinion; Perot, another Texas businessman ran as a third party to prevent Bush 39’s re-election, which probably would have been a landslide win if you added Perot’s votes to Bush.  And Perot did steal the Republican vote.

After the Monica Lewinski scandal and Clinton’s impeachment in the house; Americans went “Jogging” to the Republican “Sock Monkey” in 2000, only this time it truly was a sock monkey with an Elephant lapel pin.  After the 9/11 attack on The Twin Towers, the President’s approval ratings were 92%.  Amongst the highest of any sitting president in history.  After the 2004 re-election, The country was tired of a Party that gotten us into 2 wars and Bushes’ approval numbers were falling like a meteor.  In 2006, we saw the same type of Congressional take over like we saw in 2010.  Lots of little sock monkeys with Jack Ass Lapel pins got elected to the Senate and the House.  One other thing, because of the Dodd/Frank bill, plenty of people who couldn’t afford homes were forced by “community organizers” to receive loans.  When the housing bubble popped the market crashed during the 2008 election making things look pretty sweet for Democrats. (And it was the Democrats under Clinton that passed this Marxist “affordable housing bill) But Bush 44 bragged about more people owning homes in 2008 than ever before.

Of course, because America felt “lied” to about weapons of Mass destruction and many people lost their homes, Any Sock Monkey with a Jack Ass Lapel pin (Or pant suit lapel pin) once again was going to beat John McCain. I might point out that I feel this was the first Presidential election that NATIONAL VOTER FRUAD WAS ALMOST UBIQUITOUS.

In 2012 I anticipated the same response as the 1979 election but again, we saw Voter Fraud on the national level.  We also saw the abuse of power with the NSA, the IRS, the ATF and we saw Obama and Clinton let 4 Americans die in Libya and lie about a YouTube Video.  If history repeats its’ self, there should be plenty of little elephant lapel pins in the Senate and house of Congress should there be a fair election in November and should this Despot not put America under Martial Law.

CROSS THIS OFF YOUR BUCKET LIST

Kingsmen

In 1956 Richard Berry wrote a song about a sailor who fell in love with a bar maid in Jamaica.  Being a lonely sailor out at sea wasn’t  exactly a song with an edge during the “birth of Rock and Roll”.

The song was kicked around by 3 to 4 bands on the west coast and North West but went “No where really fast”.  That is until 1963.  Under the worst of recording conditions, a band called the Kingsmen recorded what would be one of the greatest musical hoaxes of all time.  No not Milli Vanilli, in fact this Hoax was taken so seriously by that tyrant homosexual in Washington, “J. Edgar Hoover”, that the FBI spent tax payer dollars for 31 months trying to prove something that was just a bunch of prankster teenagers, “Punking” their parents.

The FBI could have been investigating the military industrial complex and the lobbyists from Bell, (Who made the parts to repair the UH-1 helicopter that sent thousands of young kids to their death at the hands of “Charlie”.  But instead, Just as “Paul is not Dead” and John Lennon did not say “I buried Paul” in Strawberry Fields, There wasn’t one dirty word in the1963 HIT SONG “LOUIE LOUIE“.

THE HOAX

Teens in 1963 were just being rebellious teens and they floated a rumor that the song “Louie Louie” by the Kingsmen (Which had almost inaudible vocals) was a filthy song and the obscenities could be heard when you played the 45rpm at 33.3 rpms.  Mothers were outraged (which caused the sales of Louie Louie to sky rocket) and without interviewing the singer of the song or the writer, the FBI fed the song into audio analysis equipment like it was the Zapruder Film.  The F.B.I. spent 2.5 years trying to find a dirty word in Louie Louie.  So of course, bands that played high school proms would make up their own filthy lyrics and the myth became worse as it was publicized.  After 31 months, The official FBI report said: “They were unable to interpret any of the wording on the record”.  Ladies and Gentlemen I give the you the lyrics to Louie Louie

Chorus

Louie, Louie (Oh baby, I said)
Me gotta go. (now, ya ya ya ya I said)
Louie, Louie(Oh baby, I said)
me gotta go.

A fine little girl, she wait for me,
me catch a ship across the sea
I sailed the ship all alone
I never think I’ll make it home

Three nights and days we sailded the sea
me think of girl constantly
On the ship, I dream she there
I smell the rose in her hair

Me see Jamaica moon above
It won’t be long me see me love.
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I never leave again

WHY LIBERALS HATE CONSERVATIVES

BECAUSE THEY HATE THEMSELVES

66ème Festival de Venise (Mostra)

Now let me be clear.  I am not suggesting that all liberals are Joseph Stalin, or Michael Moore.  Last Sunday I did and article on THE LEFT’S TREATMENT OF PRESIDENT BUSH.   I will say that the margin of extreme liberals are larger than the extreme conservatives.  Simply by nature, conservatives don’t want to be extreme about anything.  That’s why they’re called conservatives.  Liberal by definition means “More”.  As in MORE government.  But let me get to the root of liberal ideology.  Liberals are almost always waging an inner war within their souls.  The sad part is, they don’t realize it.  But because they can’t come to terms with their inner conflict, they are quick to engage in vile, vitriolic behavior.  (Not letting the facts interfere with their rant).  Winnie (Winston Churchill) whom I loathe quoting once said: “If you’re not a liberal in your 20s you don’t have a heart.  If you’re not a conservative in your 40s, you don’t have a brain”.

There in lays the root of why liberals hate conservatives.  Conservatives claim to hold themselves to a higher moral standard than the liberal.  This also explains why when a conservative backslides, the liberal media is quick to show hundreds of slow-motion replays like when a president gets shot on film.  I say I am not painting all leftists with the same brush, but you can certainly paint a majority of liberals with one wide brush.  Unfortunately you can paint the fringe lefties with a slightly narrower brush.  It’s a principle as well as a scripture from the Bible that “darkness” hates “The light”.  Conservatives have come to the conclusion that it’s easier to live in the light than to go through life hiding your indiscretions.  This is another reason liberals hate conservatives.  If you happen to be gay; chances are it’s your self imposed shame (and society to a certain degree) that makes you want to be a “liberal”.

HOLLYWOOD LIMOSINE LIBERALS

The difference between a Hollywood millionaire and a self-made former blue collar Millionaire is that one feels guilty about his or her millions while the other feels thankful for his or her “success”.  Again, the inner self hatred needs to be dealt with.  (That’s if they have a conscience).  If not, they just pretend to be social liberals yet like Michael Moore, will talk crap about Halliburton yet invest in it.  But most actors want to come across like they care for the little guy.  It let’s them sleep at night.  But if you’re an “Occupy Wall Streeter”, don’t you dare pitch your tent on Barbara Streisand’s front lawn. (Out side the gate of course).  They will have you removed like an old piece of furniture. The smart Hollywood star will respond: “I’m really not into politics”.

FINALLY THE HONORABLE LIBERALS

There was a time when the Democrats championed civil rights.  This was after decades of being pro-slavery. Remember, it was a republican that did away with slavery.  Talk about hypocrisy; while President Johnson was getting us deeper and deeper into the Vietnam War (M.I.C connections) Martin Luther King Jr. was endorsing the anti-war movement.  Dr. King said he didn’t want to get involved in war politics, but was forced to take a position.  He tried to side step the issue by saying the money that was being wasted (Not to mentioned the young Americans)on this “conflict” could be used for social programs.  But that’s one of the left’s dirty little secrets.

Still, there were those who meant well.  I was a big supporter of Bobby Kennedy.  Bobby saw the injustice of racial discrimination and was not afraid to address it.  Yet I believe that today, both Bobby and Jack would have been considered “moderate republicans” (Romney comes to mind)  Those who actually picked up their cross and marched in Selma with Dr. King risked their lives for the cause.  In 1967, the war for civil rights was won.  Many of the liberals who championed the cause were now “Out of work”.  What followed was the worst kind of politics perpetrated on America.  The race baiters like the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharpton (who never marched with Dr. King).  The ACLU which was once a righteous organization lost its’ purpose.  Without the us against them paradigm, the Left has to create the  adversity it once fought against.  Income inequality is being served up by this president as a travesty.  Yet he never mentions it when he campaigns in Hollywood.  (But I digress) We are seeing the Pat Caddells and the Doug Schoens standing up against the new “Progressives”.  These are people who believed in the message of human fairness.  If you want financial equality, go to Russia or China.  The old Democrats are starting to see what is going on in the 21st century DNC.  Even Juan Williams appears more like a WWE wrestler when it comes to playing the “Democrat” on Fox News.

THE AVERAGE LIBERAL CONSTITUENT

I think the average registered Democrat today falls into the group of kids that never did fit in.  Again, they haven’t quite gotten to the point where they want to be over achievers rather than under achievers.  I didn’t become a Conservative until I left the military and had to pay my own bills with no help from anyone.  So lower taxes meant more of my money in my modest paycheck that I got to keep.  I saw first hand how “Reaganomics” got us out of a huge recession with double digit inflation in the 70s.  I saw it work and from what I saw; minorities no longer had to sit in the back of the bus.  But the DNC in the 60s stood for equal “Human Rights”.  Today it stands for European socialism which is impossible because you run out of “other peoples’ money.  So it must convert on the national scale to communism.  (At least that’s what Karl Marx said)

BEATLES 101 FOR GREG

ON THE FIVE

BEATLES 101 for Greg

Gutfeld83

Greg Gutfeld who is usually the resident “Cool dude” on all things music choked on the topic of the Beatles.  He did give the band props for knowing when to call it quits and even Bob Beckel understood how the Beatles reinvented themselves over the years to stay “Fresh”.

But Greg, you need to know a few things about the Fab Four in the early years. (No I’m not going to talk about Johnny and the Moon Dogs or the Quarry men)  But Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll between 56 and 59.  He NEVER went to Europe.  Colonel Tom Parker, his manager, was afraid to fly.  On the other hand; Buddy Holly and the Crickets (Which is where the “BEATLES” came from) did tour England.  John was so infatuated with Buddy,

  • A. because of his music and production skills, and
  • B. Because John said Buddy made it cool to wear glasses on stage.

The first demo the Beatles ever recorded was “That’ll be the Day”.  Buddy had so much influence on the English music.  In fact, Buddy influenced the Brits so much that Brit Rock star “Tony Sheridan” was the first British musician to own a Fender Stratocaster, because of Buddy Holly.

The Beatles were in love with Holly’s music, but when they came to America they met a black Rock musician that influenced their music even more.  Little Richard Pennimen was the influence behind the Woooooo when the Beatles would shake their hair..

So when “Please Please me” came out, it was a hybrid of Buddy Holly and Little Richard.  This sold well to millions of young white kids. (See my article Beatlemania and the Stupid 8 year old).

Paul felt the band was getting to old to sing: “I saw her standing there” and was responsible for the re-invention of the band in 67.  It was easy to see that Paul had the commercial sound while John truly wrote songs of substance; Poetry from the heart.  The song “Tell me Why” was a song that John said he wrote for children from broken homes. Paul was the teen Idol of the band and his original works show it.  In Lennon’s “How do you sleep”, John writes, “The only song you ever wrote was Yesterday”.  And even when he wrote that song, Paul was obsessed with writing a song like Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge over troubled water”.

Paul, after John’s death, would confess that great lyrics just rolled off of John’s tongue, where Paul had to struggle.  Ironically, because Paul was such a “Paul Anka-ish” bubble gum sell out; he had greater post Beatle success than his counter part.  But one can argue that Paul’s success was quantitative while John’s “Imagine” and “Woman” were far superior to anything Paul ever wrote and had greater “qualitative success.

Stories

It wasn’t that long ago that Americans sat next to a fire and the Dad told stories to the family for entertainment.  If you were fortunate enough to have books, you could find a place all by yourself and escape from the chores of being a hunter or a gatherer.

In Europe, entertainment had a head start and the same jesters that entertained the king would try and make a little extra bread (Literally) entertaining the peasants.  Centuries before settlers were making a noise with their harmonicas and banjos, Mozart was writing his symphonies and Bach was writing waltzes.

If you want to go back 2000 years before the American settlers; Plato and Socrates were writing the most profound thoughts, concepts and ideas about life.  Meanwhile on the Yucatan Peninsula, the Mayans were creating star charts, pyramids and one heck of a calendar.

Yet, if you take all of the knowledge and entertainment up to the 20th century from Bach to Hendrix, it would be a fraction of the inventions and life changing devices that would come out of a place in the South San Francisco Bay called Silicon Valley.

Cell small

Oddly enough, when technology came out of Mountain View California, it took several entertainment industries with it.  It changed the world and not entirely in a good way.  Every form of entertainment can be put into 5 gigabytes of memory on a phone, the thing that use to hang on your wall.  In the mid-1990s, record stores started going out of business.

About the same time, the price of a theater ticket went from $3.50 a show to almost $10.00 for a movie that would be on home video in 3 weeks.  Of course in 1980, cable TV was in almost every household showing movies that had been released 3 months earlier.  It also was the new venue for boxing events.

In 1980, Radio, (Both A.M. and F.M.) took big hits as “Music Television” (MTV) broadcasted music videos 24/7.  Radio no longer had the audience it once had as the video was more fun.  Unfortunately, as the Buggles sang in the very first MTV video broadcast: “Video killed the Radio Star”.  Now people could see what Joe Jackson looked like.  This was not necessarily a good thing either as some of the greatest writers and singers were really unpleasant to look at.  It also gave those who were blessed with good looks a chance to charm young fans in spite of their “auto-tune” voices.  It also raised the stakes of being a Rock Star.  You couldn’t just have a good song, good looks and you had to have a good video.  Many weak songs were driven by great video production.

VHS

Then 1985, 80% of the country owned a Video Cassette Recorder as the price dropped from  $700.00 for a crappy top loader, to about 250.00 for a new Sony front loader.  Soon Video Rental stores popped up.  You could stay home and make your own popcorn for 50 cents and buy a six pack of soft drinks for under 2.00 dollars.  Now that theater popcorn (with the yellow saturated 30 weight oil) and your big gulp will cost you about 12.00.  But you could now watch movies in your underwear and drink alcoholic beverages in the privacy of your own home.

Kids use to wait anxiously for the 3:30 bell in school to race home and grab their ball, bat and baseball hat.  A bunch of kids would meet at the park and play 3 flies up.  Or you would go over to your friends’ drive way and either play one on one hoops or “Around the world”.  If you didn’t have friends, you could go to the handball court and play tennis with yourself. (against the wall).  Kids got plenty of exercise before the machines.  Now they race home to see who’s on their favorite server to play a point and shoot video game.

Flat screen

Speaking of Sports, almost all of the sports took a big hit with modern technology from “Steroids” to the large Flat screen”.  It was recently discussed in a panel on television about being at the Super Bowl versus watching it on TV.  It was no contest.  Most of the panel enjoyed the modern television’s first down and line of scrimmage markers as well as inexpensive but better Nachos over sitting in the cold with 60,000 screaming drunks.

Humphrey Bogart

Personally, when it comes to baseball, I agree with Humphrey Bogart: “A Hot Dog at the Ball Park taste better than a steak at the Ritz”.  I might add, now days they cost about the same.  My only complaint is having 7 to 8 people touching my food before it gets to me.

tv_hockey

Only one sport is not meant for TV.  That sport is Hockey.  It has nothing to do with the “ambience” but everything to do with camera angles.  You just can’t see what is “about” to happen while watching hockey on TV.  I will admit that replays of the goals are a nice touch and most if not all hockey venues have a replay screen.

Now you can watch music videos on your phone with the YouTube App.  You can watch a whole hockey game on your index card size screen.  You can book a flight and a rental car all from the same index card size screen.  I can get a 10 day weather prediction from the Weather Channel App.  And of course if you want, you can get porn through your phone anywhere you can get a cell tower signal

Now you can actually have virtual sex.  A company has created special underwear that enables your friend to call you on your phone and the phone will send a signal to sensors near the “Intimate” parts of your body causing a sexual response.  I think that says how far our culture has come and gone. (No pun intended)

We are quickly heading towards a “Matrix” culture.  We no longer exercise our bodies or our imagination.  We care to much or not at all about our appearance.  Our “Profile Pic” has become more important than our wardrobe.

Personally, I think it will be most entertaining should an EMP (Electro-magnetic-pulse) explode in the atmosphere and everyone be forced back into the physical world and have to survive by hunting or gathering. (The Wild Wild West V.2)

Einstein

Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”.   He was a smart guy.
